American Bank Reviews

Dustin Riedemann1Beware. I heard a rumor that one of the employees at American was telling her friends (not bank employees) how much money I had in my account, what I was spending my money on, and how much my paychecks were. Of course when I heard this, I was very concerned, so I called them and ask that an audit be done on my account to see if this employee was accessing my account when she should not be. And of course, they discovered that she was accessing it without authorization to do so. She was never my teller and should have zero reason to be looking at my account. Thus, confirming the 'rumor' of her telling her friends about my account information. I then found out that she had been in trouble for this before. I asked the bank what their policy was for employees discussing bank account information outside of work, with people that do not work for the bank. They would not tell me the policy, but told me they would 'talk to the employee'. Well I was able to confirm the person still works at the bank at this time, and to me, that is unacceptable. How would you like someone you have no contact with telling anyone she wants about how much you make, how much you have in your account, where you spend your money, and places you are going? Very stalkerish to me, and extremely unprofessional. I couldn't imagine employing someone after knowing they are willing to give out your customers information with no regard to privacy. I am obviously switching banks and recommending to everyone that asks to stay away from American Bank and they seem to care less about customer privacy. I debated a long time about writing this, but honestly, I think it should be known that American Bank thinks its ok for employees to do this type of thing. And for anyone wondering, the employee in question is Katie Draayer. So if you have ever come in contact with her for any banking reason, I would, at minimum call the bank and put a block on your account so no one can access it but you and the VP of the bank. I hope this helps someone make an educated decision on their banking needs.
