I just got an auto loan a week ago. I am a new member. So far the service has been o.k. I'm a little nervous now after reading the reviews. Its interesting how the first 15 reviews were real people who were very unhappy. Then suddenly all these weird reviews with 4 or 5 stars pops up. Please let this be a good experience

Hello, Don't ever do business with America First Credit Union with Taylor, the Loan Officer, at the Sandy Branch, 9400 So. State Street. Though America First CU owes me more than $17,000 because of a mistake they made, Taylor acted like a cold dead fish, coldly staring me down, and refusing to apologize for the mistake. I have not heard one person from AFCU say they are sorry for the extreme inconvenience and aggravation this has caused me, for the past month of runaround and bafoonery !

In 2006 my Mustang was financed through AF. Id never heard of them but was surprised at how many locations I could find. I paid my car off and brought a rose to everyone who so kindly gave a little leeway once in a while and always had treats for my fur babies . I ave dealt with them for over 15 years and only one time had a small problem. My wallet as stollen the before I was to leave town. We shut my cards down and told me to drop by to grab a new one. It would be ready and goodto go. Wet to pick it up on my way to the airport ,no one the had s clue to wht i needed! Thank God I had another bank card with me, which unfortunately really sucked with a ton of overdrafts. If it was not a work trip. Id have not gone! Got my new card from AF 12 days later... not good. Stlll... BEST Ive dealt with. Thanks!

AFCU as a whole only earns three stars from me but this location is a joke. It’s as if they challenge their employees to make their members wait as long as possible in the drive up. Looking to switch financial institutions in the next few weeks. Would not recommend AFCU to anyone anymore. A real shame - a few years ago I would have recommended to everyone. I’ve been a member for ten years and the last two years have been very disappointing.

I told the loan officer I had a BK and he pulled my credit. I guess they can’t open accounts if you are in a BK. Why didn’t you tell me that before you pulled my credit??? Now I have an inquiry that could have been avoided. Very unprofessional. Roxanne instead of getting up and treating me like a human being just sat right next to him messaging. I could hear them both typing about me. That doesn’t make someone feel good especially if they are in a rough spot in their life. I hate this credit union.

      Response from the owner

Hi Kourtnee, we apologize for any frustration.

Have been a customer for over 25 years and would highly recommend you go elsewhere. I have heard Mountain America is much better. The past few years the customer service has consistently gotten worse. They do not listen to your requests, they do not follow through with your requests, and then they do not fix their errors - leaving you to clean up the problems their ineptness created. For years their customer service line has been too busy for the volume yet they have never hired enough people to deal with that volume and those that they do hire are completely incapable of doing ANYTHING correctly let alone just basic listening skills. Here's a thought...maybe if they hired qualified humans to do the job properly the first time the volume of calls would not be nearly as high! Seriously, as someone who knows from years of pain dealing with this Credit Union DO NOT give them your business.

Every time I've come to this location, there have been no hiccups. The employees seem friendly enough and they are quick. The one thing I'd mention (I'm not sure if this is a new thing or not) is that they use the parking space for events at Rio Tinto. So if you're needing to use the ATM at this location, don't do it on a day at the same time something's happening at Rio Tinto.

      Response from the owner

Hi Alex, we are so pleased to hear your had a positive experience at this branch. Thank you for your kind words. We are grateful for members like you.

Came in and got the worst customer service with America First. There was a Caucasian women with glasses on the heavier side who attended me. I did not get her name because I was so frustrated and got out quick. When I first walked up she asked me to remove my hat which I did. I handed her my I.D. and told her what I came in for she asked me again to remove my hat and face mask. I don't get why I was asked twice to remove my hat and mask. There was another Caucasian women who was wearing a scarf on her head and a face mask and was never asked to remove anything. I believe she targeted me on my skin color.

All of the bankers I've worked with here are incompetent. They give conflicting information. They put on an air that suggests great service, but they don't know what they are talking about and can't get you the information you need to make good financial decisions. On top of this they will never get back with you. They give you time frames for a call back, but you ALWAYS need to call them and ask. CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BANK!
