I do all my personal banking at AFCU. Their lending programs are good, the checking and savings accounts pay a reasonable interest rate. Low fees are one of my other favorite things. I’ve be with AFCU for almost 20 years.

Today I visited this location to deposit cash into the ATM. Business as usual - I put my card in, entered my pin & selected “deposit” into my savings account. Once I deposited my cash, which was a pretty large sum of $$, half way through the machine counting it, the machine stopped & gave me an error Message that it could not complete my transaction & spit my card back out. When I went into the bank to resolve the issue, the bank teller was very unenthusiastic about helping me recover the $4800.00 the ATM just ate & just expected me to take his word for it that the money should just show up in my account.. when I requested to speak to the manager his response was “she’ll just tell you the same thing” This was completely unprofessional & did not offer me a solution what so ever in regards to the ATM eating all of my money.. I’m days away from moving out of state & expected an instant deposit. I understand that machines malfunction, however having no systems in place or a response to this situation is absurd. Gives me the feeling that the machine eats cash more common then not. Beware!! This branch does not care about reassuring you that your banking with the right people.

Do Not Get a LOAN with America First! I bought a boat and my dealer referred me to America First. I set up automatic payments right away and their system did not process the payments. Once I found out the payments had not been made, I called in to get the autopay corrected and immediately paid the amount due. I was assured that since I was now current, it would not be negatively reported on my credit. It has now been a year of getting the run around from “customer service” and them failing to correctly report that the payments are current. I am warning everyone thinking of using America First to get a loan from another bank to protect your credit score. They do not care if their system caused the error and they do not care if they are hurting their customer's credit score.

They should at least maintain the ATM. Broken and not accepting deposits. Too far from the other branches for this to be the only ATM for deposits in the area

I usually hate giving negative reviews of a business but when you earn a negative review, here you go! This all started a few months ago when I disputed a visa charge for blinds I bought that were not cut right. I had emails from the company that I made that purchase stating that they would refund my money. They NEVER did so I contacted America First. It's now been 3 months and I STILL cannot access the refund money that is sitting in my account only after 35 DAYS I can then withdraw it. How absurd is that? This credit union seems to always be in the way of the consumer and makes things VERY DIFFICULT. This Friday after this 35 day BS hold is up, I will be closing ALL of my accounts with them. Horrible experience all the way around and I would stay away from them!

FYI - This credit union pulls a hard inquiry of your credit report just to open a savings account!! I called to ask why (I'm saving, not borrowing money so that makes no sense) and the response was "It is disclosed on our application". I'll accept responsibility for missing what I'm sure was fine print, but apparently the disclosure only states that a credit inquiry will be made and does not specify whether it will be a soft or hard inquiry- there's a big difference between the 2! I called Experian to dispute and even the agent agreed that a hard inquiry for a non-financing transaction is unusual. The inquiry is good for 60 days but I wasn't planning on applying for a loan or credit card that soon. So basically on day 70 if I decide I want to utilize their loan services I'll have a 2nd hard inquiry on my credit report in a 90 day period. Not good! As soon as my dispute is approved I'm closing this account, I don't want to get any more surprises from these people.

They are the title holders for my car. About a year ago someone had dinged my door so my insurance sent me a check for the damage.. i went to this branch and the manager said i can't cash or deposit the check into my account because i'm not the title holder.. I called the 1-800 number and the guy on the phone said that I should be able to cash it or deposit it into my account without any issues.. so I went to the branch on Durango and they helped me cash the check without any issues..
