  They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't finance a kiddy car through them. I've been 1 1/2 years trying to take care of a car I traded in Dec 12, 2020. They claimed I owe $410.00 in Jan 2021. The car I traded in was sold 2 weeks after I traded it. I made a car payment the day before I traded in the car. The dealer told me to stop payment that the payoff would cover the payment I just made. They released the title. Now they are trying to tell me I owe $498.00 I've agreed to pay the $410.00 from Jan 2021. They told me they don't negotiate. I've asked 5 times to talk to a supervisor. What a joke. I was told we have escalated the call and a supervisor will call you in 24 to 48 hours. I've been waiting 5 weeks to hear. They threatened to repo a car I don't have or own. TIME TO CONTACT AN ATTORNEY.

  They reported one of my payments late back when I had my car. I disputed it and they removed it from two of the CRAs. Experian still had it on theirs so I took the dispute up with Ally. Ally said they would resolve the issue within 30 to 45 days. well after 45 days I called back and they said I would have to wait further. I told them that they are legally obligated to change their remarks if they can't find something within 45 days. The representative was very impolite and condescending and then when I woke up the next morning credit karma informed me that Ally went back and told transunion and Equifax that the payment was late again. Now, this account has been closed for over 3 years. This was absolute spite work. They couldn't remove the bad remark within 45 days but they wasted no time reposting a bad one 3 years later. This company's absolutely disgusting and I will be taking them to court.

  I for one will never be using ally again. And from the rest of the reviews it looks like they are nothing but a scam. I couldn't get ahold of the to make my last payment. Everytime I would call I got the automated voice system. And it would just hangup on me. So after several attempts. I waited for them to call me. After I finally talked to someone. I was informed that my account was past due and they added an additional 195 dollar's in late fees and they were reporting my account to the credit bureau. Stay away

  TOP 5 REASONS NOT TO USE THEM (there are so many more): 1: They are the only bank that marks up dealer trades to market value rather than remaining balance of loan. Meaning if you owe $5,000 on your lease / loan, but the vehicle is worth $20,000, Ally will charge dealerships to pay $20,000 to buyout the vehicle. Therefore not a single dealership (including Carvana / Vroom / Etc.) will take an Ally vehicle trade since they have no profits in it. 2: They are the only bank that does not allow 3rd parties to buyout your vehicle. Only you can do so this eliminates any private sales of vehicle. 3: You can only perform lease / finance transfers of people in the same state. So since you cannot trade nor sell your vehicle, maybe you want to do a lease transfer (swaplease) or loan transfer, well only Ally restricts you to your own state which now cuts your chances down 49x lower than any other person attempting to do the same thing with a different lender. 4: All banks except Ally allow a 30-day return policy if unhappy with vehicle. Ally does not. You might as well sell your soul to them. 5: Horrible customer service. Good luck getting anything accomplished. I learned the hard way with them. Please research this yourself before you finance with them.

  After deciding to refinance my vehicle with Ally i was dealt with issue after issue. Not only is their customer service sub par and non responsive unless you call and hound them. They tried charging me sales tax on my vehicle I already own and paid sales tax on. Very shady company. BEWARE!!

  I have tried for 1 week straight to just get my payoff for my truck so I could trade it and every time I called they told me that they are sorry and that it would take 24 to 48 hours to fax a paper showing the payoff. I guess it takes ally longer to fax something then it takes the whole rest of the world. If I could give them a -100 I would stay away from ally

  Terrible experience still dealing with a “missed payment” for over a month. Had to send my bank statements multiple times to prove I have never missed a payment. Their story constantly changes and when they are called out I get transferred to someone else. It goes no where and I think they hope I will just give up. I will continue to send the statements and call every day until it is resolved. Terrible company and cannot wait to pay this loan off and be done with them! I don’t even trust them enough to make another payment on my vehicle

  I called several times to confirm my vehicle was sold and paid off got hung up on. They make you verify you ss number then they hang up on you stay away not easy to work with and they will lie and say you didn't payoff your vehicle even if you have the reciever showing you did. Mine was 50k and they received the check.

  If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been on hold for 1:51mins so far trying to get to a customer service agent to get a 10 day payoff amount for an auto loan. I work for a financial institution and its for a mutual customer. I tried to chat twice with an agent while on hold, and they were extremely unhelpful and would not try anything to accommodate another financial institution. I don't know if I will ever get to an agent at this point or get a person who is willing to help me in general. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

  Good to know this company took my moms car with my stepdads ashes from Michigan. And won’t contact her back.
