  While the customer service has been gradually declining for some time, I unfortunately continued to do business with this poor excuse of a financial establishment. As a 15+ year member, I held out hope that things would get better. They have only gotten so much worse. Recently it took them 3 or more attempts to complete an international wire transfer for me successfully. A simple every day task for most bankers. Though, through all of this I kept both my personal and business accounts open and active and gave them the benefit of the doubt, until today. My CFO and my parents were poorly mistreated and lied to at the lavale branch, and they refused to deposit A CORPORATE CHECK that had been properly endorsed by both my CFO and my partner company. This was the last straw for either me personally or my company to continue doing business with such a poorly managed credit union. 12 years ago these guys were the best thing since sliced bread, it really is a shame to see what they have come to.

  ACT First is great. I have become friends with all that work there. They now own the loan on my truck and I am treated like a CUSTOMER here. Always friendly and always helpful! I recommend this credit union to all that are looking for a place.

  My Mom has accounts and conducts business with ACT 1st Fed. As she has delegated more of her affairs to me for assistance I must say that upon deeper inspection I'm impressed. I find myself working toward my own accounts in the near future. The one concern I had is their technology standard and value. I was online today and found much useful information but when it came to service and function, the site did not perform simple requests such as contact by email, automatic response teller issues, online banking issues to logon, couldn't use the calculators, etc. Electronic availability is modern and convenient and the future. Perhaps they could use an phone App as well. An internet presence is more than advertising it's sophistication, security and banking online. It will promote growth among dedicated cell phone users. Everything I do at work is possible only with a cell phone and a few apps with permissions. I was reluctant at first but I found myself complimenting how smarter and effective it is. From daily assignments to payroll and location, it is definitely the future of employment and business structure. Not to bore but the entire process of my experience for employment was done with a cell phone. And I like the trust it gives the employee. The credit union is decent, promotes many options and is transparent in business conduct, operations and the customers responsibilities. Online Banking is a priority especially now in this climate.

  Act first federal credit union was so great to us when we refinanced our vehicles! Gave us A wonderful rate which we needed sorely. So friendly and helpful. Stephanie was our loan officer and she was just lovely to us not only treated us like friends but treated us like family. My husband and I both have accounts with act first and we have always been happy with the service the people over there are so nice to us and always so helpful in answering any questions we have. If they didn’t know the answer they would find out for us and then call us and let us now. You can’t go wrong with this credit union.We never plan on going anywhere else!

  Customer service has been getting worse lately. They have added new rules to simple transactions and are very rude. This isn't the home town bank it used to be. The branch needs to think about how it is treating its members. And don't get me started about drive through....

  My husband, Chuck, and I have been members for over 30 years. We have transferred our Mortgage, financed several vehicles and saved money towards our retirements. Also, we love the 3 convenient locations. The staff at all locations are very courteous, professional and helpful with any and all transactions or questions we may have. You will never be just a number...We are NOW and will continue to be very loyal members to Allegany County Teachers Federal Credit Union.

  As a member going on 10 years I am still more than satisfied with the service Allegany County Teachers Federal Credit Union has provided for me. The location is convenient, the people are friendly, and the online banking is easy to use. I highly recommend them.

  Act 1st federal credit union LaVale branch is a wonderful bank. The people who work there are an awesome group of people . When I first opened my account they were very helpful and answered all questions I had . Every time I go there they always are very friendly and always greet you with a smile . 😊

  Allegany County Teachers Federal Credit Union has been my place for banking for as long as I can remember. I enjoy going there because of the all the services they offer there. They do everything from loans, auto, home, and offering CD's.
