Charmaine Carter1This is by far the worst mortgage company I have ever had. They called my work for being 1 day past due on my payment and I wasn't even late. They had cashed my mortgage payment two weeks prior but, never applied it to my account because my insurance went up $40 and I was supposed to make the payment for $40 more. When I called them to find out why they were calling my employer they stated I never made my mortgage payment and not until I gave them the check number and date of when they cashed the check did they realize that I made the payment but, then they said they were not applying it until I send them the $40. Due to Covid closures I had my hours at work cut and I filled out and sent a ton of paperwork to Citadel to ask to have May's payment deferred and not only has it been a month since I sent them the paperwork and they haven't given me an answer but, I paid the mortgage payment for June and first they claimed I never sent them the payment and then when I insisted they already cashed the check they realized they made a mistake and found it and instead of calling me regarding the deferral they applied it to May and screwed up my account and not only was the rep rude but, made it sound like it was all my fault. They sure as hell do not know what customer service is, let alone know what they are doing. Why isn't this company auditing their employees? Who is the clown running that circus?

Michael Cohen5Christina Fairbanks is one of the most responsive and helpful representatives I've worked with. Her processor Charyl is also amazing. Communication is number one here

Andrew Ferm1We had a signed loan and had invested thousands into purchasing a property with Citadel servicing our loan. We paid for all of their inspections and other fees, then the very day our signed and completed loan was supposed to fund and finish escrow, Citadel lays off their originations department and doesn’t fulfill our loan. We still worked out purchasing the house with another lender, but I could never recommend this joking scam of a company to anybody.

Alvaro Montiel5We have been working with Chuck for over a year now and have been able to close numerous loans for our Foreign Nationals clients with decent rates and great service. He’s great to work with and always gets back to you. UW conditions make sense and Citadel is willing to work with you on an exemption if there is a merit for one. They have an amazing team of Transaction Managers with Carla, Darci and Martha, which is KEY in helping you obtain that much needed CTC (clear to close!) They also have one of the best closers in the business in Hilario Cruz since he is very efficient at his role and is invested in making your deadlines. Citadel will continue to be one of our to-go lenders for our alternative loan options unless something changes.

Liz G1I represented a buyer recently who had 45 days to get to closing. I was told that was more than rnough time to get everything to closing on time. The loan adviser was very lazy and didn't take the settlement deadline serious. He had no drive or motivation at all. I ended up getting his manager invovled and we were able to get to the closing table. Their requirements and communication are confusing. I will not be recommending this company to any future clients.
Response from the ownerHello Liz, I'm sorry to hear about your issues with your borrower's mortgage. I've done some investigation and it seems there were a few more issues with this loan than you've lead on with your comments. As you know we are a US based company and the borrower is located in Ireland. As much as we try, sometimes time zones can play a role in connecting people, however, we're doing our best to accommodate them. It also seems the value of the property was overinflated. Upon review of the appraisal, the value came in lower. As you can imagine if we're all pulling for the borrower, having them overpay for a property I'm sure is not in your best interests as a realtor, I would hope. As you can imagine like most loans we have some conditions that need to be met in order not to put your borrower in a loan they can't afford. We will assume as an experienced realtor you have prepared your borrower for any and all eventualities and possible regarding timeframes. While we understand your frustration we hope you'll work with us for an expedient closing. In the spirit of great customer service, we think it would be irresponsible to increase everyone's stress levels by setting an artificial closing date given the number of conditions your borrower needs to provide and the appraiser needs to complete. Your loan officer will be more than happy to give you daily updates if you choose. Thank you for your comments and we look forward to closing your loan.

karla espinoza5David was a great help throughout the process, he was always attentive that everything went on time and in the best way. He was very professional and he was very understanding in the sense that my first language is Spanish, so English is a bit difficult for me, but with his help he gave me confidence and made things much easier for me.

Beesley & Company1If you are an LO looking for a company to fund outside the traditional box for financing options i would advise to avoid Citadel. These guys have managed to bungle and fumble their way through a loan with 25% and mid 800 FICO's. Citadel said they could handle a loan from a client with complex tax return by avoiding the tax returns all together simply with a profit/loss statement from the CPA along with proof of insurance on all other financed properties. 37 days later we are still trying to close the loan... These guys are poor with communication, the requests from their underwriters are inconsistent at best and their lender reps never call anyone back. We have now asked for 2 separate extensions on a very small contract.

Todd Wilson1Citadel has been very slow on getting my mortgage done. I have had many mortgages. Not one as slow as them. They have showed me no concern what so ever. It’s big business. I will never do business with them ever again. No customer service at all. If you are doing any conventional mortgage stay away from them. Unless you have 3 months to kill. Citadel has time lines with very little communication. Their timelines are extreme. BPO was done in a day but it took a week for them to acknowledge it. It appears to me they have a lot of business but not enough people. They need to understand we are people that are depending on them. They treat the transaction as we are not human. They need to restructure their company and profit even large. It’s common sense take care of your customer and your customer will take care of you. They have forgotten that!!

Kris Weathermon1If I could give 0-stars I would. Not only have I had to file 2 extensions for closing with this company I have also had to call them every hour on the hour to make sure things are moving along. Once I thought we were in the clear, BOOM!!! Another things pops up!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! This is my 4th time buying a home and would not wish this company on anyone not even my worst enemy!!!!

Anthony Till (Tony)5Connie and Andrea at Citadel Servicing Corp. managed my loan extremely well. They communicated items that were missing in order to move forward with our loan. What made this Loan a little more difficult was the fact our less than perfect credit history which coupled with our Mortgage company for the house we sold caused a few bumps in the road, by not getting information on needed to continue with the loan process. Overall we were approved for a loan most mortgage companies would not even consider. Well Done Citadel. Anthony Till
Response from the ownerThanks for the kind words Anthony! We're always eager to please. We're very happy the loan moved through to meet your expectations!
