ACFCU Federal Credit Union Reviews

Kay I1Well this bank just lost another customer. Between the awful app and the hidden fees I can't handle it anymore. The app was produced poorly and crashes constantly. The customer support isn't helpful. Until you call back enough times and get someone helpful. Now all of the sudden I have to be on "premium" checking with new fees that I never signed up for. I also signed a waiver for omitting overdraft protection. Low and behold, it's still there charging me for something I didn't want or need. Goodbye ACFCU, you used to be good.

Shyla Jeffers1Here is a fair warning… DO NOT use ACFCU! They will rob you of your hard earned money and could care less who they hurt in the process! I was in the process of closing my account with them and had cancelled my direct deposit. There were still some accounts linked to my debit card that I had forgotten. ACFCU was covering each of those charges but charging a $25 fee for each charge. I was unable to check my account online, as their app NEVER works! They kept adding on these charges for 14 days before the contacted me!!! I called to see if they would work with me on their ridiculous fees since I have been a long time customer and never had a low balance or overdraft fee. Most of the charges were less than $10 and they still charged $25 on each one. One of my online grocery orders was billed in 4 different increments (main order, $3 add on item, .35 weight adjustment, $10 delivery fee) so they charged $100 in fees for $60 in groceries!!! When I called and told them it was an honest mistake and asked if they could help with any of the fees, they refused to even hear me out. Their fees were over double the amount that was actually charged on that account… how is that even ok??? They have financially devistated me in an already hard time in life… and I just want to make sure this doesn’t happen to anybody else!

Roy A Shannon1Changed my account despite the fact that I opened it specifically with no overdraft. So 75 dollars in 2 days in overdraft but if I want to change anything on account I have to sign for it. All because they are so greedy they did it for any extra money they can get. True wall street and bank greed.

Aubrey McCarthy125 dollars a day in overdraft fees feels pretty greedy considering the financial struggle everyone is facing in the middle of a horrific pandemic. What a convenient time to start charging so much.

Jordan Chandler1Have not been able to access the mobile app for weeks. In addition their atm at their main location is not working, so I have no way to check my balance. They charged me to call and ask for my last 6 transactions which is insane considering I have no other option to view my account activity. I’ve put up with ACFCU for too long because I do not have time to transfer all my direct deposits and automatic payments. Now I’m missing a day of work today to get away from this mess of a “local” credit union. (Have not once spoke to anyone local. They don’t even have tellers in their lobby except at the main location)

Britton Drown1This is the third credit union that I have done business with, and unfortunately it is by far the most unpleasant experience. We live in Lubbock and have an auto loan through ACFCU. It is impossible to get ahold of anyone over the phone concerning your account. There are no call backs, no estimated wait times, just a ring tone. This really needs to be addressed and we will certainly no longer do business with this bank once our account is closed.

Bryan Wagner1Changed on line banking app without advanced notice. Appreciate you letting your customers know after the fact. Now we are being moved up to some other checking deal that is 6 dollars a month. If you don't want to be moved up you have to call them. Shady stuff. They should ask if we want to do this instead of just telling us it is being done.

Ally Hays1Awful. We have a car loan through ACFCU. No one seems to know what’s going on. Absolutely the worst.

Megan McCormick1COMMUNITY??? Yeah right! If you get a check from an elderly family member you can't deposit it into your account because it's considered 3rd party. Never have I been overdrawn before so when things hit my account (over a week later) I had 8 $25 fees overnight, they weren't willing to get rid of ONE of those fees in order to keep a customer so I'll be taking my money elsewhere!

Jeannette Armendariz1I have been a member with them for years! When i call no one answers. I went as far as getting on line and filling out an application for a vehicle. They have gone down hill. They're are outdated and hard to get money out or transferred quickly and effectively to other areas outside of Amarillo.Expect Leo and his secretary, they are awesome. I hope the don't lose any good employees! Take your money and run!
