Ace Buyers Reviews

Melodi Wells1I am in the process of dealing with a HORRIBLE issue with Ace Buyers Pawn right now. A little over a month ago i put a shotgun and a necklace out on pawn with this Ace Buyers. I turned in the items with a Washington I.D. The address on my I.D. is my primary residence. I also have an address that we were renting in Eugene, Oregon as my husband was going to school. I gave them both addresses. When i went to go and get them out however, they tell me that i can not get my stuff out until after i provide an Oregon I.D. because that is State Law. I call and talk to someone who seems very understanding when i tell them that if they were to not give the gun to me because of my I.D. he should not have taken the gun with it either and says he agrees and assures me that if I come in and talk to the owner he is sure that he would straighten everything out. Relieved, because I at the time was packing up my last things in our rental and move them back to our address that is on my Washington I.D. before Christmas to see family. We decided since the next day we were leaving back to Spokane, we would stop at the Pawn on the way out of town and get my things. Boy, was I wrong. The second I walked into that store and said my first sentence, the owner rudely interrupts me and tells me my I.D. is apparently invalid because the address they have in their system is an Oregon address. I ask for reprint of my ticket so that I can have someone else pick it up for me and he must have thought i was stupid when he said that it was illegal to reprint tickets. I made sure with the City Police Department and ATF, there are no laws against it. What's funny is when I mentioned what Pawn Shop it was they weren't surprised and said they have had problems with them in the past. I hope the owner of this reads this, although from the way he handled himself in front of me the other day i doubt he even cares what is being said on reviews. On another note, when my husband called and told him our lawyer will be contacting him very soon for theft of an firearm, he replied with vulgar language and yelling saying he doesn't have time for this bullshit. Well as a wife of a 12 year Army Veteran who did 5 tours to Iraq totaling 6 years in deployment as an Airborne Ranger and 4 kids all on top of having Endometriosis, I sir do not have time for your BULLSHIT. Hope for your sake the judge likes that kind of attitude... doubt it though.
Response from the ownerNot a valid ID. When she came in to redeem her pawned shotgun, we asked if her ID was current/valid and had her current residential address on it. She said no. She told us the Eugene address that she was living at. We told her that she'd need to get an Oregon drivers license or identification card that would reflect her current residential address. We understand that people do move and have temporary residence, but federal law requires us to see a valid ID and perform a background check to transfer a firearm to people. It's lawful to pawn a firearm with an out of state license, but inorder to redeem the firearm it must be a valid ID with the current residential address on it. She then told us that she was moving back to Washington after the 1st of the year. We explained to her that she could renew the contract on the shotguns, giving her another 60 days to move or get valid ID. We told her that she could redeem her necklace. Her husband came into the store and I spoke with him. I was currently helping another customer, so I asked him to write his name and phone number on a piece of paper. I explained to him that I'd call the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) for clarification, in case we were wrong. I called the ATF promptly. According to the ATF and federal law, ID must be government issued, have a photo, have a birth date, and have a current residential address to process a background and transfer a firearm. Because initally she told us her address wasn't current on her ID, she was living in Eugene, and that they were moving after the 1st of the year, we couldn't process the background and transfer the shotgun to her. This was vailidated by two ATF adgents. I called her husband and spoke with him about my conversation with the ATF adgent. We are more than willing to work with them to legally redeem their pawned shotgun. I didn't respond with vulgar language. I had a customer witness my actions, her husbands actions, and my phone call with her husband, He complimented me on my patience and being professional. When her husband (over the phone) said to me that we'd be hearing from his attorney, my only response to him was to have him call the ATF...it might save them time and money. I don't usually repond to feedback on the internet, but maybe I should. I'm confident in my working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. We don't break laws and never intend to. I'm unaware of any problems or issues with the ATF and the local law enforcement agencies. She had her pawn tickets, her husband was the person asking us to reprint a pawn ticket for him. She was not present with him. To reprint a pawn ticket for anyone is against Oregon pawn law. I'm very thankful for all people who have served our GREAT nation. We are very pleased when people are able to redeem there pawns, very few pawned items are ever forfeited. This is our goal, but this isssue has everything to do with our business following federal, state, and local laws.

Robert S1I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NO STARS....AS IN ZERO! We have all seen "Pawn Shop reality shows with cool honest people ...well this place is just the opposite. They will lie to your face...cheat you if they think they can ...and steal when all else fails. They sold accessories off my AR15 and sold all of the ammo that went with the gun during my redemption period and when I redeemed it they tried to tell me that a 30 day grace period didn't apply ..when they had just told me the week before that it did... RUN AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS AS FAST AS YOU CAN !!!! AND GET A HOLD OF ME IF YOU HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF THEIRS...ITS TIME FOR THE STATE TO PUNCH THEIR TICKET !!!
