  I first heard about Acción Texas through a radio broadcast about a free informational seminar they were having. I went to the seminar and learned so much about getting started as a small business. I set up a meeting with Marta, and heard everything she had to say. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with all my business needs. I really admire the hard work this organization puts into the community. They are helping the little people build themselves back up. It takes skill, money and guidance to get started. Acción Texas is there to help you with the answers you need where others would shut their doors.

  Accion Texas is an organization that cannot be trusted. They have promoted a microloan to one of their clients for a sum of $5450 (interesting number:-)) which was promptly defaulted upon after a one time payment of $300. This appears to be nothing else but a scam . Do not be taken by this organization that does not appear to do its due diligence neither does it bother to inform the lenders of why an account that they have promoted went belly up under very suspicious circumstances.

Regrettably in this case the borrower was unable to meet his obligations to the conditions of the loan.   I contacted Accion regarding a loan for my small business. I received three phone calls asking me questions about my business, and then never heard back from them. When I tried calling them, I was given the run around (the first time) and the second and third time I called my calls were never returned. It frustrating as a business owner trying to raise capital to expand your business...it's worse when the people who purport to help people like me completely ignore you. (If they had even called and said "Hey, you were denied" that would have been better than being completely ignored.)

  Will be very hesitant to lend to clients recommended by Accion Texas in the future. I have doubts that due diligence has been performed with a recent loan funded by Kiva and defaulted on by the client.

  They just waist your time and effort, when you want to be successful in life they give you the run around and you have to be perfect all the way around, no hiccups on anything to get approve for $10,000 to start up you business....
