  The St. Johnsbury Branch of VSECU has always provided great customer service, offering helpful information and are responsive to any questions or concerns. The staff is very professional, they have a great attitude, are friendly and are very knowledgeable about banking. It is always a pleasure to meet to visit this office.

  Went in to set up a joint savings account. I’ve heard great things about VSECU and I was excited to have finally decided to make the leap. I was greeted immediately and helped with opening an account the following day. My CSR was knowledgeable and her coworkers were there to answer any questions she might have had. The establishment was very clean and orderly and I appreciated each employee dressing and looking professional. We had to bring our children with us to this appointment, so it was difficult with the paper signing portion of the visit. The staff were so consideration of us, they allowed for us to do whatever we needed to do to be parents as well as be adults at this moment in time. My partner and I left that day excited to have started a new chapter with VSECU and will continue to grow our relationship with then for our future. Thank you to the ST. Johnsbury, VT branch for working with me and my family to the best of your abilities and for helping us with all of our questions regarding your services.

  I've been banking with VSECU many years and have had 3 mortgages, 2 refinances and personal loans with absolutely no problems. Very professional and helpful employees. Everyone is friendly and helpful and their commitment to customers and the community is impressive. VSECU is more than institution, it is part of my everyday life here in the Northeast Kingdom. Real people that give real service. I highly recommend them.

  VSECU makes it a chore to open a bank account. They open and read the mail you bring in to verify your address. They accept mail from one insurance but not from others. Frankly I feel it's less the proof of address and more who I am. I was instructed to show my face for the camera but then asked to move closer even though I stood in the same spot as my partner. Then my partners insurance mail was accepted but mine wasn't. I had an extremely poor experience with them and won't be returning to create an account. Also VSECU engages in overt classism. With policies that directly attack lower income people. VSECU doesn't accept mail from Vermont medicaid as proof of Vermont residence although you must be a resident of Vermont to have Vermont medicaid. You have to provide more detailed proof of residency to medicaid than to VSECU. There is no better proof of Vermont residency. This policy is only there to ensure that people from lower economic backgrounds don't have access to affordable banking, regardless of their fiscal responsibility or credit score. I encourage people to go somewhere else for banking. Somewhere that doesn't villainize people based on class or race.
