Mary Giordano5I have been doing business with VSECU for over 50 years and I give them the highest marks in service, professionalism, helpfulness, and willingness to answer any questions we have! I have moved to another state but still do all my banking with VSECU and hope to continue to do that after the merger. I have faith that this will be the best decision and choice for all the members.

Samantha Madden5I worked with Pam at the Williston VSECU location yesterday to establish a car loan. Not only did she help me during lunchtime (with no appointment), but she also offered to help me refinance our other vehicle at the same time. Thank you, Pam and the VSECU team!

Chris Yates5The best thing about VSECU, to me, is I feel like they are watching my back for me. I feel safe that they keep my money for me. I have always belonged to credit unions, I am a big fan. I think size has a lot to do with it. I prefer "sensible" to "too big to fail."

Brian L. Woodard3Maybe it's just me, but VSECU not having any of their location drive-through tellers available on Saturdays, is an inconvenience to the working class. They make it easy to put your money in, at any time. On a positive side, they do have one of the largest networks in the state and a decent electronic banking system. So, it would be nice if members could access their money on Saturday mornings at half of their key locations. That would be highly appreciated.
Response from the ownerHi Brian, thank you for your feedback! It is great to hear that you like our state-wide network and Digital Banking system. As for our Saturday availability, I'll pass on your suggestion/feedback to our business team for consideration. Thank you!

Tony R2Mortgage team was subpar at best until we got to the closing department, which was an improvement. General banking is adequate. We went with VSECU because they had the lowest rates, by a small margin, but in the end that didn't make up for the pain with dealing with them. Also, the lower rates are due to having to get other accounts, which is fine, that's their business model, but good for people to know. The mortgage origination and processing team lacked any costumer service skills, if we were able to reach them at all. They didn't explain anything until we called complaining multiple times as their explanation of the process was non-existent. When we did complain they responded like we should have known the entire process before hand. The underwriter had a number of issues with the property that we had to address before clearing to close. It's within their right to point out any safety issues they want, but we have found out since no other bank would have flagged those issues, thus saving us time and money (significantly on both counts for us). There were no regular check-ins that were common place with other purchases we have made, and we were left to worry and wonder a number of times where things were in the process, or continually email and call until we received a response. In all a difficult experience and I wish we would have gone with a different bank.
Response from the ownerHi Tony, we are sorry that you had this experience! It does not reflect the kind of service we strive to offer. We will pass your feedback on to our mortgage operations manger. If you have any additional details that you would like to pass on, we’d appreciate it if you could send them to [email protected] so we can continue to improve the member experience. Thank you for being a VSECU member!

Waters Breedlove5Did you ever think you'd say 'I love my Bank'? I didn't. Not until I opened accounts here many years ago. VSECU has come through for me too many times to count. They treat you like a human being. Their rates are reasonable, their customer service is impeccable.
Response from the ownerWow! Thank you for the wonderful review Waters. Thank you for being a member!

Frances Swarts2This organization needs a great deal of improvement. We got a loan from them last year that we are trying to pay off early and this seems to be an issue. We tried to make an “in house” payment of the full amount and it declined. We have made wire transfers to the other account that we were forced to have with them and still no luck in being able to make a transfer from that account to the loan. While we were making regular payments I could not do so with a debit card from another institution and was told that they did not allow this. I have had to set up a bill pay to make payments. Nothing but a hassle around every corner. I just wish to be done doing business with this institution.
Response from the ownerHi Frances, thank you for your review and your feedback. We are sorry to hear that there were so many issues in paying off your loan! We are constantly working to improve the member experience and recently rolled out upgraded functionality so that you can pay your loan balance with a debit card from another institution. If you have the time, we'd love if you could send us some more information about the other issues you experienced at [email protected] so we may continue to improve. Thank you!

D F2I really wanted to love this credit union. They are 'woke'. The way they process transactions is very problematic. Their online banking is a mess because of these processes. I have never been so unsure of how much money I have in my account until now.
Response from the ownerHi D F, thank you for your review and your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with balance and transaction status in our upgraded Digital Banking service. We've made some improvements recently that should have ironed out some of the early bugs. If you are still having issues, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can investigate your accounts further. Thank you for being a member!

Sandra Robinson4I appreciate the good service provided by our credit union in general, but I am unable to figure out how to download tax documents despite our local technician's best efforts and find that we are forced to either give our tax preparer access to our accounts so she can download the documents or pay the $5 fee the credit union requires to send copies. (We recently spent half an hour in the credit union waiting for a teller to find a tax document. She gave up in frustration and we left without.) How is this policy user friendly? We gone through this for two tax seasons now and are tempted to take our accounts elsewhere though we'd rather not. What can be done?
Response from the ownerHey Sandra, we're sorry that you had this issue! Send us a message over at http://m.me/vsecu and we'll see what we can do to help.

michele clark5I have been a member of the coop since I was a State of Vermont employee. I'm delighted they're open to all now I think everyone should leave the regular banks and join a credit union. I feel part of VSECU. The staff is always pleasant and helpful.
Response from the ownerThanks Michele! We love having you as a member. ❤
