  Borderline criminal the fees this bank charges you and the app is something out of the early 2000s. Buyer beware shady practices like ten dollar fees to take payment over the phone. Want to pay from the app? It will be 3-5 days to set up payment IF IT works. Customer service is rude. Hopefully someone brings legal action soon against this predatory business.

  If you want a hard time and/or hassle to make payments because you use another bank for payments....especially if you're military. This is the place that you want! I would give my right foot to have not used this organization, My right foot's the good one.

  I’ve been with them for a few decades. I’ve never had a problem. Basic services are free. Their web browser is clunky and the app is okay. I use bill pay and transfer money between accounts easily. They deserve more than the 2.7 stars their google review shows.

  I was a member of this bank 20 years ago in Charlottesville and have gone back when the branch opened in Culpeper. It is a great bank with a manager and tellers who remember your name and give personal service.. I can’t say enough about either the system or this particular branch. If you want a real home town bank this is it.

  Credit unions are generally about ten years behind on technology of any sort (I have friends who work at this credit union and they complain about it all the time) so the ATMs are often out of order, the phone apps are slow and clunky, and online banking is usually un-navigatable. The employees are always kind, though new hires you have to keep an eye on because they'll hire anyone to do your banking for you (big box store cashiers). There are other, more advanced banks with better loan rates and opportunities. Check them out first before trying UVACU. One star for being a co-op and one for friendly service.
