I’m never very excited when I am having to give my money over even for a mortgage but this mortgage company really goes above and beyond for its patrons. As long as you communicate with them they will work with you on just about any issue. Staff is always super friendly whether you come in in person or talk to them on the phone. Have had no bad issues with them as long as they have carried my mortgage even with Mail being lost them not receiving payments and having to trace down where it went; to making payments early and not have them put it towards principle but the next month. If you were looking for a mortgage company that has a very competitive rate and will treat you like a person and not a check or number definitely use Utah housing Corporation.

This mortgage company has been amazing... I do highly recommend them... they were really great with me during the pandemic and still willing to help me if I have any issues ... Everytime I talk to an employee I express how wonderful they are and how I appreciate them ... they are willing to help you in any situation you are in ... I always enjoy getting assisted by most of them ... Maria & Derek ( I think that is his name lol ) have showed me so much kindness over the phone during these hard times ... I do highly recommend this mortgage company to anyone ... thank you for everything you have done for my family and I ... and continue to for my family and I... THANK YOU...

I have a regular CSR I speak with regarding my mortgage and she's always cheerful, friendly, helpful and ready to address any concern or question I have. I feel confident with my mortgage and my financial standing with UHC because no matter how ridiculous my question or concern, they always treat me with dignity and respect. Special shout out to Marley! Thanks for being so patient and kind!

This year has been really hard on my family, especially with Covid still effecting some folks. Elizabeth and Torm were super helpful in getting me where I needed to be and now I can manage my expenses better and make it through the year without losing our home. Thank you Utah Housing customer support.

At first glanced, we made do with what we had with them because it made sense at that time but many things have changed since last year. Their pandemic assistance is a complete joke. Don’t do it if you can help it. I manage a clinic and naturally, my hours were drastically reduced. Their options were vague and not concrete. We were told many things, none of which were true. After we took advantage of it, they did a switch and bait on us to lock us in to our current loan so we couldn’t refinance since they reported it to the credit bureaus and its derogatory. A deferment versus a forbearance are two totally different things! My husband and I are beyond upset. Needless to say, we can’t wait to refinance and get away from this loan company as well. Their interest rates are sky high compared to what is available out there and there is no room to negotiate. My husband and I filed a complaint with the BBB to see if we can get the forbearance terminology removed from our record and changed to deferment. If it says that, we can refinance.

      Response from the owner

Hi Mr. & Mrs. Gillespie, These are trying times and we understand how frustrating it can be to work through issues related to Covid-19. Utah Housing Corporation (UHC) sends an acknowledgement letter, outlining the forbearance program, to every homeowner requesting a Covid-19 Forbearance plan. As a mortgage servicer, UHC submits reporting data to the credit bureaus, but we are not privy to how the bureaus display the information or how it affects a person’s FICO score. Loans on a Covid-19 forbearance plan report to the credit bureaus in accordance with CARES Act requirements. We are available at 801-902-8300 to answer any other questions you may have regarding the program or your account.

It's sad... That when someone works for years to build their credit to buy a home, then an unforeseeable event causes a financial need to restructure the loan (which steps and concerns were taken to remedy the situation even before a single payment was late or missed). During the restructure, I made all the trial payments on time, but yet the original payment just prior to the restructure counts as "missed" when really, it wasn't missed... My credit is down 120 points for something that was out of my control, and they won't do a single thing to get the "missed payments" that were never really MISSED! off of my credit. My credit is destroyed for 7 years, for being responsible and a hard worker... and they couldn't care less. They don't care about the people, just the money... Everyone else is understanding, and will have late/missed payments removed from a credit reporting, why won't you?? Because you don't care! Thanks a lot.. If you have the option to go through another lender, do so... Good luck.

DO NOT GET ON THE FORBEARANCE PLAN... They will lie to you and tell you that it won’t affect your credit or report as late BUT I was put on the plan and now the Bureau is showing that my payments have been late for the last past year. The only reason I accepted the plan was for extra protection because of covid 19 and financial downfalls. I’ve been making my payments every month but now I’m stuck with a bad score.

Update! If they can't contact you for 3 weeks they send someone out to your house to take pictures of it. It's Kinda creepy when someone i just rolls up, takes pictures and leave. I had to chase him down to find out what he was doing. Such a pain. My bank caused a payment to bounce so now the only way i can make a payment is going to to a money gram location. I've made every payment on time for 4 years. As soon as i can refinance with another lender i will. So glad i have time for that in my life.

      Response from the owner

Hi Patrick, Utah Housing Corporation understands these are trying times. Mortgage servicers are required to perform property inspections on loans where there has been no contact with a homeowner and/or the status of the account requires the activity. We have reached out to our property inspection company and would like the opportunity to discuss your account with you. Please contact us at your earliest convenience at 801-902-8300.
