Avoid this location. Drive through routinely takes 15 minutes even without a line. It's like they teamed up with the Starbucks at 29th Place to see who could provide worse service. There is eyerolling and sighs from the tellers. A request for cash back is met with annoyance--as if you aren't entitled to your own money, or as if the teller is giving you his or her own funds. Find another branch. Or bank.

Terrible in every respect. Online competitors offer better service, better credit cards, better website, better interest rates, better everything. Move-on from these criminally awful people.

Very poor customer service. Stupid wait times. Waited in line for 30 + mins at the drive thru get to the window no explanation no apology. Actually called inside to see what the issue was. All I was told was that the have one teller and he is overwhelmed. Hire some more people and do better “Truist “ .

Been banking with BB&T for about 15 years, generally the company has been very good to work with. This has been my home branch since becoming a member and have always had good experiences dealing with the folks here. We opened a business account about a year and a half ago with BB&T, they were super helpful in setting up banking and insurance.

I use this branch more than the others due to its location on 29 and I’m “in town” almost every day. Christopher, Vicky and Kathy are the friendliest tellers here and the three drive thru lanes is great during this time when everything has to be done through the drive thru. The ATM seems to be updated in the past year. This is by far my favorite BB&T branch and when things are normal I usually just go inside to cash any checks because the tellers are so friendly.

Been banking with them for about 10 years. Suddenly I end up paying $5 a month just to have a checking account? Totally unfair. Other banks will do checking for free. Also now that I don't get direct deposit my checks can take as much as 3 days to clear, leaving me without what I need! Don't make the same mistake, this bank is no good. Find a FREE bank that can guarantee your paychecks ON TIME.

The gist: Don't work with Troy Lane, and better yet, don't work with BB&T for a mortgage loan. The expansion: I realize this is a single data point, and 1-star looks like someone may have simply been annoyed and decided to retaliate. I assure you, I gave this mortgage loan review process and Troy Lane all my patience and more, and offered every opportunity, and every possible qualification, to those behind it. But, they flopped. Completely. And in glorious fashion. I'll elaborate. I am the seller of a home in Charlottesville, and the purchasers have used BB&T for multiple other mortgages in the past. So, they used BB&T for this one. We signed the contract in late April, set to close on June 1. Starting in mid to late May, the excuses and explanations began. "We just need a couple more things, and with the holiday (Memorial Day) coming up, it will be toward the end of that week." Okay, I have no problem with minor delays. I signed my paperwork June 7, expecting the buyers to sign June 8. No dice. BB&T failed to communicate the breadth and depth of the problem, such that even the buyers didn't realize we weren't closing on time. BB&T: "Sorry for the frustration this is causing... we need one more thing, and it should be the following week for closing. Everything looks good, we just need a little more time." Second verse, same as the first. Third verse, same as the first. Fourth, fifth, and sixth verses, same as the first. "We just need one more thing, we're almost there." Three months. I repeat, three months. BB&T couldn't close a person-to-person mortgage loan review, for clients they already hold multiple mortgages for, in three months. The entire time, offering promises like "we just need one more thing for the underwriters, three days' review time for the loan disclosure, and we should close next week." By the end of July, they were unable to give a decision, yes or no (reminder, we signed late April for June 1 closing). They offered every assurance that this was a priority, things looked good, and they were working as fast as possible and fast-tracking things. BB&T's combination of incompetence – at least as far as communication and client management, but possibly as far as not understanding the mortgage loan review process internally – and poor-borderline-dishonest client management, cost everyone money. The buyers, who are friends, are never doing business with BB&T again, and have moved on to another lender. I of course won't ever be doing business with BB&T, but also want it known that their "fumble" cost me thousands of dollars. It probably cost them $100,000 once you account for the interest on the loan. I can't fathom what happened, and all they ever said was "we're almost there, one more thing, just a few more days." They also explicitly said that it was not the buyers' fault. It surely wasn't mine. That makes it BB&T's fault, by simple deduction/reduction. They had the initial request for materials. They had the follow-up request for materials. They had several more. At no point did they indicate there was a problem or a red flag, and even at the end, they couldn't even offer a declined or rejected application - nothing, no decision. They simply dragged this process out for three months, costing everyone involved time, money, energy, and causing a lot of frustration. Need a mortgage? Use Matt Hodges of Presidential. Or Mike Bitrick of First Heritage. Or anyone, anyone, but BB&T. Save yourself a headache or worse.

Very poor service, you shouldn't sit in the drive thru for over 30 minutes and only be the second one in line

This branch on 29N is the worst branch for BB&T. Slow and inconsiderate especially at the drive thru.
