Summit Credit Union Reviews

Kitten Claire1Been a customer for years and usually go to another location. Stopped in the lobby looking to make a withdrawal and get quarters. When I walked in there was an elderly man being forced to use an ATM to do his banking. He was obviously frustrated by the experience and struggling, so the teller was assisting him on how to use the machine The teller looked at me and asked if I needed to do a transaction or if I just had a question. When I explained what I needed, I was told they don't have any coin at all. I asked what kind of bank doesn't have coin? She replied, "We are a credit union, not a bank and we don't carry any coins." Frustrated, I then called the 1-800 number from my car, was told that not all locations carry cash and they were trying to get ahold of my usual location to see if they had quarters. Told them to forget it,. If I can't get cash at all the locations then it needs to 1.state that in the location info and 2. I need to find a new place to put my accounts where I can access my money in all legal tenders when I need it.

Heidi Peters3The customer service sure has gone down in recent years. I went throught the drive thru today to deposit some money. A gentleman came to the window and said someone would be right there. After a few minutes a woman with blond hair and red spots on her face did my transaction. She was probably between 50 and 60 years old. She did not say hello, she looked annoyed to be even doing my transaction, and had a look of hatred on her face. Maybe this job is not for you lady. I really hope you are not working the next time I go through.
Response from the ownerWe’re sorry to hear this, Heidi. Thanks for sharing your experience with our Greenfield Branch. We're always looking for ways to improve and your feedback is valuable to help us provide the best service to our members.

Caleb Krause3Don’t always have both lanes open for the drive thru. No online tellers like at some locations. Typically takes longer here than other summit branches.
Response from the ownerCaleb, thanks for taking the time to let us know. Excellent member service is important to us and the branch manager will be reaching out to you to do discuss your experience directly.

Quincy Jones1Had a bad experience here I came to open up a business account, my license was expired and I didn’t realize it (no big deal just renew it online). The DMV sent me an official copy of the new license through email and I came back to proceed with opening the account. Before leaving the tellers office to renew my license online I asked when they closed to which she said 5PM…a person would think “oh the customer will be back today then.” Make a long story short I came back with an official copy of my new license from the DMV that they emailed and they wouldn’t accept the official copy as proof of ID. I went to educators credit union and they took great care of me! Would not recommend Summit at all.
Response from the ownerQuincy, we’re sorry to hear about this. Can you please call (800) 236-5560 x8500 to talk with Vicky?

Lanita Elliott5I've had many banks in my lifetime. Summit is absolutely the best! While there's always "hiccups," as with anything in life, I've received nothing but outstanding service! Any problem(s) have been promptly addressed & they've made sure I'm completely satisfied. You just can't ask for anything better from your bank!
Response from the ownerYour five-star review made our day, Lanita! Thanks so much for the positive feedback. And thanks for being a member of Summit.

Jessica Repati5I absolutely love this branch of Summit. They are always so friendly and accommodating. I rarely wait more than two minutes for a teller in the drive thru or lobby. The bank is very clean and bright with coffee and often goodies. Mostly the staff is fantastic.
Response from the ownerThanks, Jessica, for sharing your experience! We're happy to hear you're enjoying the Summit difference at our Greenfield branch.

Emilie Thompson1Hard credit inquiry for opening a savings account, not once, but twice, because they wouldn't allow me to turn an existing savings account into a joint savings account with my partner. Didn't have any trouble adding him to one of my accounts at UW Credit Union. Would not be a Summit member if not for the HSA I have there.
Response from the ownerEmilie, we’re disappointed to hear this. We work hard to meet our members’ needs, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know about this situation. We'd like to discuss your experience. Can you please call (800) 236-5560 x8500 to talk with Vicky?

Serelle P1My mother has been with this bank for 30 years. My first experience with them while being there with my mother was professional (greeted with a smile & welcoming tone in voice) and pleasant (about a year ago). Just went in recently with my mother, and was met with unprofessional demeanor, laziness (heaven for bid if the heavy set female had to actually get up out of her chair), and down - right snobbish females; who looked at you and talked to you like you were unworthy of their presence. We will not be back into visit unless absolutely necessary in the future!

Mike2Went through the drive through to deposit a check and it took what seemed like 45 minutes to do 3 or 4 cars while 3 people behind me bailed due to the insane amount of time it was taking. This is the only time I used this bank so is this a one off or is this the norm? Needless to say I’ll avoid this location going forward.
Response from the ownerHi Mike, we understand your frustration. We're working diligently to process requests as quickly as possible during this unprecedented time. We also recommend utilizing our digital banking options whenever possible – here’s the link for more info: https://www.summitcreditunion.com/bank/digital-banking. Thanks for your patience!

Lynzie Robillard5I've been with banks sonce I was 17. I first opened an account here because there was no mandatory amount that had to go into savings. Now, this is my primary "bank". They are always professional and will help you with what you need.
