  I have been banking with south State for years. I opened a Account at the MB location, that is not there anymore. I live in Socastee, so I go to the one on 544 and I hate it. I dont know what it is but every time I walk in that place I hate it. There are 2 females especially that are the worst with the dirty looks never smile always look as if they dont want to live or have to take a poo and are made at the world look. Maybe its just me. I was about to close out my account and go to a other bank. Today over the phone I talked to the most pleasant person omg and so helpful and understanding and her voice was not fake. If I could fill south State up with a lot of Teri Broughton's I would. Teri Broughton today was the best conversation I had with anyone and we had a good laugh. Thank you I really needed to laugh today. Your a God sent you truly are and you care. you went above and beyond for me today and made me feel cared about. Thank you Teri Broughton

  Ms. Terri is the BEST banker I've ever dealt with. She has helped me multiple times with my business checking even after we moved states away. Highly recommend her for your banking needs!

  DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!! All of their hidden fees are ridiculous. They charge $36 for stopping any with drawls. They charge $30 a piece of paper they fax. They charge you if you have under $100 in your account. They charge a percentage of any amount of money that you deposit into another account. This company is horrible, absolutely horrible .It's a for-profit bank. They don't care about their customers. Not a single iota of respect or decency. Please leave this bank before they screw you out of any more money.

  STAY FAR AWAY FROM SOUTH STATE BANK!! This is the 4th time; 2nd time in a month, that my money has "disappeared" from my account after midnight in the past year. Each time I go to the bank they say it's because they didn't scan my check through the second time at the end of the night. They need tellers to learn to do their jobs!! How can someone go a weekend without any money and without any 24/7 banking number to call?!!!!!!!!!! Ever since south state bought out first federal in South Carolina, I have had nothing but problems! I am now actively looking for a new bank!!

  Great staff. Will go out of my way just to come to this bank. Steven is so helpfull and nice. And Marie as well!! Thank you guys for helping me out in anyway I need and putting things into terms a non-banker can understand :)
