  People are friendly....I can't take that away from them, but customer support is horrible. Phone, mobile, online, in person....They are trying to be be big time with technology with no staff to help when there is a problem. Ever since South State took over this branch from Bank of America.....I have had trouble. Let a local person pick up the phone. Waiting on hold to a national call center is killing us. They want us to do all the work.....online, but have limited support when their technology is faulty. Not impressed.

  My Dad has done business with the facility in Hartwell for decades since way back when it was Bank of America. I mean decades. We have a joint account with funds enough. They refused to deposit or cash a $1600 tax refund check my son had signed over to me. Over the years, we have cashed/deposited checks for our children/grandchildren. We've not ever been refused. Now you might have to wait a week to access funds which is fine by me. Now, all of a sudden, I'm a peice of trash. I was told go to Walmart it's against our policy. Try another bank, it's against out policy-with smirky attitude. Well you can bet I sure will find another bank. I won't close this account now ONLY because Dad's SS check comes there and I don't want to stress him w the trouble. But you can bet our business will go elsewhere. If my poor Dad didn't have terminal cancer he would be there raising hell. I'm so disappointed. It sickens me I can't go close the account right now.

  Made an unauthorized inquiry on my credit report and refused to remove it. I had never heard of this [unethical] bank prior to this.

  Always had friendly service! Knowledgeable about what their bank offers, Wish I remember her name,, young blonde lady who was very knowledgeable and patient with my numerous questions! Thank you for her training and very personable professionalism!!

  Dont ever get a loan for a vehicle from these guys..You'll never get your title. Even after 10 phone calls they did nothing to resolve the issue..42 days and counting
