  Would give this place negative stars if I could. Never had a car loan charge us for car insurance without contacting us, an insane service charge to pay a bill over the phone. The app is awful, payments will go through and get pushed back for no reason causing payments to be late. Worst place I’ve ever worked with

  This is not against any specific branch but rather the whole institution that is pretending to be a bank. No bank could afford to reset all yoursettings you have placed on your accounts and be considered serious player in the industry. After their "upgrade" of the system not only you had to setup new online account (with their branches closed COVID) but all your allerts were deleted (text messages that would call your attention to possible problems in account). Failure 2: the "remote deposit" simply doesn't work (they also don't infirm you about that) and to add insult to injury they want you to write your account number and " SOCU REMOTE DEPOSIT ONLY " on the back of your check which makes it invalid for another bank. The will also inform you that your "loan balance over the amount" on due day not a day after which is misleading.

  I called customer service and acquired my loan payoff figure. I then send my last payment. I was paying off this car loan a few years early and I was proud of that. I then sent a check in from out of state. A week later I logged in to my account too see if they got the check in the mail and found that I had a $10.41 cent balance. I called to see if I could get it waved because the CSR on the phone gave me the wrong amount. They would not wave it. Then I find out that it would cost me a credit card service fee of $10 dollars. too process my last $10.41 payment!!! I paid every month on time. They would not wave the fee. Great customer service!!! When you call in the phone they play a message stating compassionate service is our goal. NOT TRUE... Find a better place to do business.

  There needs to me more proper training in the facility when I called to do a stop payment on a vehicle I had payed off in full the lady was very polite but did not tell me about a fee when I called the next day realizing they charged me a $29 fee the lady acted like it was no big deal and she really didn’t care it my money and I should of been told time for me to find a new bank for myself and family

  Lisa - we are sorry you're upset about our stop payment fee. This processing fee is standard with stop payments and is common practice at most financial institutions. Our team member should have made you aware of this fee.

  Very unimpressed. 10$ service fee to call and pay or pay online for a vehicle loan. Had no idea I was gonna have to pay an extra 500 for a loan through a dealership.....

  I’m totally disappointed with SOCU!!! I’ve received a TON of misleading information from their reps overall. I’ve had a TON of frustration since being a so called “member” with them! Unfortunately, the reviews I’ve received regarding them before I joined does not add up to the experience I’ve personally had with SOCU! UPDATE: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE DURING THE PANDEMIC!!! ANOTHER UPDATE: They really need to have some customer service training for their employees!!! The teller I dealt with today has absolutely no listening skills! As I’m attempting to explain something to her, instead of listening to what I’m saying she decided to over talk me! It’s a shame I had an issue today over something so SIMPLE that should’ve been notated on my account from just the day before! 😡😡😡

  Whatever you do...when getting a loan for a vehicle through SOCU, DO NOT buy the "Route 66 Warranty."

  Decent place to bank, app can be frustrating to use, god forbid you get a new phone after 7 years and can't remember "one word to describe yourself" then get locked out of your account

In case you haven't seen the great news, we are getting a NEW app/online banking July 12th! All members will have to re-enroll to have access to the new and improved online banking experience.   I have had nothing but problems trying to pay my car payment.. then when there is an issue and I want to pay over the phone they charge a 10$ fee. Ridiculous I’m trying to give them money and all I get is problems and fees... I won’t ever be taking a loan out through them again!!!
