  TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! I implore you to shop around with other banking institutions. I unfortunately have a few loans with Sierra Central and have been at the receiving end of terrible customer service. Sierra does not care about you or your situation. Again, Sierra Central does not care about you, nor do they have competent management with the ability to take a step back and look at the entire situation. Our story: We recently purchased an RV and our loan went through Sierra. Our paperwork for the loan was completely mismanaged, which required us to go to our local branch on three separate occasions—a huge inconvenience, but we obliged. After several weeks of back and forth emails, paperwork and trips to the branch, our RV loan received a supplemental charge of $6,000. Yes, $6,000—for insurance. According to the manager, Madison Nelson, who said on multiple occasions we had a 30-day grace period to secure insurance, which we did within that window. We took inventory of our RV on March 10 and our insurance was effective on March 31. We insured our RV within the 30 days that Ms. Nelson said we had. Sierra credited our loan $5,400, but $600 was charged for the “lapse” in coverage and our monthly payment increased $50—our annual insurance policy is only $300. Sierra’s own insurance branch assured us that our loan officer, in this case Ms. Nelson would be able to credit the account the $600 in charges. I have been chasing the credit for 6-weeks, have sent multiple emails, proof of delivery paperwork and everything else they’ve required. It’s alarming to me that Ms. Nelson does not have the presence of mind to realize that we give Sierra Central thousands annually in interest. That we were inconvenienced multiple times because of the incompetence handling our loan. We were lied to multiple times about the 30-day grace period. $600 for three weeks insurance coverage is robbery when you consider that our annual coverage is just $300. Save your money and the trouble of dealing with Sierra Central. You will receive better customer service from a fast food shift manager.

  The bogue location has great customer service. They were amazing at the corporate office along with the location I used. They were thorough and helped me get a great loan and I love my account and online banking. Been a breeze working with them.

  Best bank I’ve ever had, very nice staff and great customer service. They are also great on the phones as well. I have been a member for many years now and have had no problems or issues with they. Keep up the good work SCCU!!
