  Sergio Boffelli at Freedom Mortgage is an absolutely amazing person to work with. As first time homebuyer's the process is very daunting but Sergio was there every step of the way and provided clear concise information and answers. I'm so grateful to have had him on my dream team.   When my wife and I decided to pursue our dream of being a homeowner. We met many obstacles and firms giving us false information. However we continued to say questions and eventually met Roland Castro from Freedom Mortgage. He gave us his personal cellphone number, said call me whenever you have a question on anything you don't understand. That was our start, then he turned us over to the staff at Freedom Mortgage. Less than two months later we moved into a beautiful home. There were never any bad questions with Roland or the staff. We were kept in the loop during the entire process.   Freedom bought my mortgage. Things have gone well, until they called me about a refi. I appreciate a lower rate (who doesn’t) but it has been a nightmare. I am presently on hold and have been for 30 minutes. I requested a callback from a supervisor because they keep messing up the disclosure form and one closing date had to be canceled already. Of course changing the closing date puts me in a position to pay interest by the day at the higher rate. It’s been almost 36 hours and no callback from a supervisor, so I spend my days, while on vacation, trying to get this fixed. Honestly, I know they made this good offer to me because of my high credit scores, 800 or above on all three credit agencies, to keep me from going to another company for a refi. As a disabled veteran, I know I get lots of benefits that many others don’t. However, no one expects to be placed on hold, made promises that are not correct and not getting responses to emails or phone calls. At freedom mortgage, the right hand definitely does not know what the left hand is doing. Customer service has been friendly and polite but of course everyone points the finger to someone else or to a different department that they have no control over. I will probably see this through, however, if a competitor was to call me to offer the same deal, I would probably go with the competitor at this point. FYI.. my wait time is gone to 45 minutes. I would suggest you don’t use freedom mortgage for your home loan, however, your loan could be purchased by freedom mortgage. If that happens and the interest rates don’t change you’ll probably be OK but if they call you because the rates have dropped and want you to refi be prepared for many promises made and not kept and possibly waiting days weeks or months while you continue to pay interest only on your loan. The 2 star is because it is realistic and most customer service reps were courteous, just uninformed. Good luck and please excuse any typos.

  Wenceslao was very supportive and communicative. Being a first time homebuyer from out of state, I needed a lot of handholding and guidance. This was always provided. Maureen did a good job communicating documentation needs.
