Queens County Savings Bank, a division of New York Community Bank Reviews

Yitzchok Adlerstein1Calling it a nightmare would be an understatement. When my mother obm passed away, my sister and I, both listed on several accounts, tried to access our funds, and get into the safe deposit box. We had a death certificate and all necessary ID. We were able to access our funds at a bank across the street in all of a half an hour. Two years later, we have not been able to access our accounts at Queens County. My sister spent many hours and several trips to the bank, which was completely unresponsive. It took hiring an attorney just to get to the safety deposit box. My own visits to the bank and phone calls yielded promises of follow-up, which were never, ever followed up on. I don't live in NY, and now have to hire an attorney to get some service. I have never had a worse experience with a bank in my life

Jen Kaziyeva2Had the most unprofessional encounter with the manager of this branch. I called to follow up on the incident that happened with my mom day before. Where another customer jammed her between a sidewalk and his tire. My mom one of those that absolutely never complains because she doesn't want anyone in trouble. So I called instead, it's my mom of course I got upset, anyone would do the same for their mother. I called to call out the bank on the recklessness of the depost workflow through a drive through window. Where people on foot and by cars follow same line. How does that make sense? All I got from the other line is yelling (which she said thats how she speaks; absolutely not an excuse, I'm a New Yorker I speak loud as well but there is a volume control when it comes to customer service in a place of business). Her yelling was in defense mode as soon as Ms. Crespo called me back, absolutely no compassion. No follow up on how my mom is doing. This could have gone so much calmer if few kinds words were used. Now I'm on the phone making a complaint about the branch. I honestly gave 2 stars only because of a kind teller that actually did try to assist with the situation. Otherwise this disgusting managerial skills deserve zero stars.

Adriana Moundros1Beyond worst customer service. I've been to this bank numerous times and I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but they never improve. Today was the last straw and I will never be back to this branch. Waiting 20 minutes to speak to a representative so we can open new accounts while no one else is in the bank. The representative doesn't call us, I assume because she's finishing the paperwork from the last couple that was speaking with her. Someone walks in and gets online to go to the tellers, 2 are open and not helping anyone. The representative calls the new customer over to her desk for assistance instead of allowing the tellers to assist. We left, not even bothering with waiting any longer. And the other review also got it right, the atm is always broken.
