The staff is helpful and nice. But when it comes to depositing YOUR retirement money. Its unpredictable. Deposit was suppose to go in on the 30th, I was told it could take up to 24 hrs to 72 hrs. For a deposit to go in. Still waiting. They said VOYA holds that account. I called VOYA. They said even on direct deposit it could take up to 3 to 5 business days to receive it. That's how long it takes to get it through the mail. I guess that extra 3 to 5 days of interests is important to them. OPERS change to a different holding company, they make you look bad.

My mother has this. Social security demands updates every spring for changes to my mother's pension. Usually OPERS sends a letter. This year no letter. I call to ask. Sorry won't help you. Just out right refused. I know they are busy. But I just need the letter you are supposed to send me every year by law. Where is it. Can't help. Or won't help. Worst customer service I have had in a long time. And that's really saying something these days. Would give a minus rating if I could.

Wait 3 hours on hold just to change my address. Never got anyone on the phone. You can’t grade service you never got. Besides that they sent me an email telling me I was locked out of my account and to call them. What a joke. I going to mail a letter by snail mail to the Executive Director. Maybe some day I will get my address changed and my account unlocked. I will not hold for 3 hours ever again.

Since OPERS dumped pre Medicare employees on VIA Benefits things haven't been ideal. Long wait times, kicking the bucket down the road because no one wants to answer questions about vision and dental. It's a total nighmare. Customer Service at OPERS is......

No one answers the phone. They locked me out of my account. I never received my income tax information for 1920 or 21. On top of that they cancelled my health coverage right before I retired. Not happy with you at all.

I caution every OPERS retiree or planned retiree to do your math and homework VERY CAREFULLY with new changes starting 2022. Via Benefits upcharges ALL their supplemental health plans on the website. Not sure this is actually legal. Verify this for yourselves. I've personally verified $40-70 above open market prices if bought through VIA. Then OPERS holds us hostage with the mandate of 'buy through VIA or lose HRA'. ViaB is an AWFUL option which OPERS leadership seems to ignore. Yet we lose benefits starting in 2022 to gain long term pension sustainability. We're getting ripped off.

It was a pleasure speaking with Raúl regarding my retirement. He explained the process, options, timelines for payment, etc. He was extremely helpful, patient and informative. Thank you Raul for your impeccable service!

I have never worked with a agency that is more inept than this. Nobody seems to know what they are doing. I have been trying since open enrollment to drop my dental. I have talked to supposed supervisors and numerous other workers. They will let me enroll but no one can assist me in opting out of the dental plan. Totally inept system!!!!!!!!

I got locked out of my account and can't get in unless I talk to a representative. However they aren't accepting calls as they have too many calls. It's frustrating

I am so disappointed in OPERS powers that be. I was proud of the fact that OPERS operated in an amazing way to keep employees first. I often bragged about how great my retirement was. But unfortunately they played us under the guise that we were costing the plan too much money. So they cut our HRA in half. Reason unknown, makes no sense!!! One day you guys will be old and need what we needed. I hope your Powers that be will be more understanding of the fear you placed in us about our medical needs future😡
