      Unbelievably difficult company. So disappointed. I have had them for over 40 years and am disgusted as a claim I filed in early January has not been handled in a timely manner and now, over a month later, they refuse to pay. Their adjuster Wade is condescending and rude. He sent a water damage company to clean and repair damage done by raccoons in our attic! I used to recommend them to people, not any more. Not ever.

      I had been with NYCM since 1996. In the beginning there were no problems. They slowly changed and their actions became ,over the years, more and more egregious in nature. I had to leave because it was becoming abusive. I always paid my bills on time and had few claims. I unfortunately did have recently two freak incidents. I was passing a big MTA bus on side of road. The bus was stopped and idling ,I could feel it’s vibration as I passed it. Suddenly a heavy metal piece fell off the bus and hit the top of my car. NYCM replaced the cracked windshield but wouldn’t replace the roof where it also hit! The claim supervisor Kirsten did not even know the pertinent details of the case that she was in charge of. She learned four important details when I told her! My car was in such good shape ,two years prior, it passed as a classic car! She asked me to send those pics and information to her. In other words ,do her job for her!! And this woman is supervisor! She also didn’t know the point of impact on my car, etc. I had to tell her everything for the first time! They replaced the windshield and did nothing about the roof damage. The second incident was a year later when a 5 thousand pound truck drove across my front property driven by a drunk/ drugged up youth! It mulled over everything in its path! I had lawn: shrubs, mailbox, driveway, apron on driveway, lamppost, Belgium block, etc damage. The front yard had massive debris with large / small plastic pieces, metal and glass and drug paraphernalia that they threw out of truck all on my lawn! Again NYCM was uncooperative! They wouldn’t even wait for my landscaping/ driveway estimates to be mailed to them. NYCM contributed 47 dollars and the perp’s insurance company gave the rest. The amount they wanted to give was not even half what I will have to pay to get all the work done. I don’t have insurance to pay for the damage to be fixed by me!! I have plenty of evidence: pics of truck after incident, physical evidence of debris, pics of my property after incident and surveillance footage of truck speeding across my lawn. There is a detective and prosecutor involved in this case. I am cooperating with them! See you in court NYCM!!!

      NYCM customer hit our PARKED car. He admitted responsibility immediately. Spoke to a rep at NYCM, they said they took 100% liability, but a WEEK later I can't get a return call!! I have called multiple times, keep being told we will receive a call back. Still waiting...

      Terrible insurance company with terrible customer service. Quick to terminate policies when it doesn't benefit them. Did business with them for over 25 years and not treated well. They forget there are plenty of other insurance companies out there. Talked to a competitor and purchased better coverage for half the price. Definitely look at other companies you will not be disappointed.

      In the middle of resolving a claim where my parked car was hit and deemed totaled by the company. So far I am pretty disappointed in how this is being handled. My only prior experience with NYCM was me paying them, now that I need something it's not so good. Very stressful. UPDATE: Car still sitting in the lot of the garage- claim not processed. No return calls or emails. Very disappointed

      Horrible insurance company, customer service is not the worst but close to it. Insurance is overpriced, only reason I have them (not for much longer) is due to it being through my work union. What I have to back up the overpriced part is that I called 2 different insurance companies to get a quote to MATCH my current policy. On both of the quotes they were either half or less the price of NYCM for literally the same exact coverage. I advise to stay away from them for any insurance inquires. This is one of those things that it's best for you to go to one of the bigger/more professional companies and not a mediocre one like this one.

      I honestly wish there was something less than a star, maybe like a negative star of some sort. Allow me to narrate what happened; When I signed up with this company, the broker quoted a premium and suggested that I take a defensive driver course to maintain that premium, which I did. This quoted premium was financed. The insurance packet I received had a different premium adding (in one of the numerous papers sent) that the requested discount could not apply because I had not sent them the defensive driver course certificate. I sent that eventually believing that the discount would apply. When I was almost done with my installment payment with the finance company (one more payment to go), I received a notice of cancellation from the insurance company for owing them $56. I made my final payment to the finance company within the time frame stated in that notice believing it would settle that deficit (ie if I did owe). DMV sends me a cancellation notice after I had made that payment so I spoke with the finance company which said I had made full payment with them but the insurance company claims I owed them. The finance company tells me "the insurance company might have increased your premium, so speak with your broker or call them". How's that even possible? It turned out, after several phone calls to the insurance company that the discount they gave me for the defensive course taken was different from what the broker applied for when I signed up. No notice of this difference was given prior to the cancellation notice, no notice of a change in premium was given. So, I reviewed all the figures, taking into account all the different quotes I received and compared them with the payment receipts I had kept. That $56 for which my policy was cancelled is still a mystery. Payments I had made versus the different quotes I received does not indicate a $56 difference. It's been over a month now and the refund due me (considering my payments were made ahead of the cancellation date) has not been paid. It took them a 15 day notice to cancel a policy which was a misquote but it has taken them over month to refund me the difference. Such transparency and openness from a company. The choice is yours

      I have had this insurance for 4 years. I pay lots of money for home and umbrella policy. When something go wrong they don't know you. My basements flooded 6moths ago they don't cover that. My agent was Hudson united insurance service LLC In Nanuet never help you. You should not use this company. I been trying to call this please for months never call back to follow up.

      The integrity of this company is questionable at best. Since my home was burglarized almost 8 weeks ago, I have yet to resolve my (first ever since being with them for 8 years) claim or be proactively sought after for information concerning the case. The robber was caught, police report sent. Every time I call to ask about the status of the claim I am told a new reason why they cannot process the claim. In the past 8 weeks, I have called and left a message that was never returned, sent and email that was never responded to, and now I apparently was sent a letter a week ago that I never received. Something just doesn’t jive here. I would switch companies now but I fear that will only cause more delays and un-notified issues. Can’t wait for this to be over so I can go to a company that isn’t nefarious. I wonder if they read this and get stuck dealing with them for another year. Fool me once shame on you.

      Totally dissatisfied with service. My parked car was hit 7/31/17. I gave ALL INFO FROM POLICE REPORT TO Jennifer on 8/4/17. I & my Geico claims rep was informed that the driver was NOT @ FAULT. The supv never called in regard to this error. The decision was reversed on the same day to 100% liability. Amanda said the adjustor would contact me. Never happened. Mike said that since they didn't have VIN # & car mileage, it wasn't assigned to an adjustor. I gave ALL THIS INFO to rep except car mileage. Exactly WHAT DOES THIS CO DO if I had to provide all this info? This company must be hit or miss--MORE MISSES because they hardly get rave reviews. SO SAD.
