Northwest Bank Reviews

Brandon Greene1Absolutely horrible bank. The worst of them all - the bottom feeders of the banking world's ocean floor. I walked in to open up a new customer checking/savings account. After they refused to honor my out-of-state check, I spoke to their branch manager on the phone. I told him how "disrespectful and unprofessional" they were being over the matter, and they should at least contact the Armed Forces Bank (where the funds for the check were located). He explained to me that my check was determined to be a "scam check" through their fraud department. As such, they would not be accepting my check nor would they be contacting the Armed Forces Bank. He further stated that, "Once our fraud department says its a scam, it stops there. They are above management. We can do nothing further for you." At first, I was speechless and didn't know what to say because the Armed Forces Bank is the premier financial institution for all U.S. Armed Forces personnel. I made sure to tell the pompous Northwest Bank manager that, "I find it very offensive that you're telling me this check is a fraud. All of that money was earned while I was serving our country in the military and you're telling me it's a scam." If their fraud department would've investigated this issue more thoroughly (i.e. call and/or email the Armed Forces Bank management), this bank would've confirmed that my check was NOT a scam check and the funds were readily available in the corresponding account at the Armed Forces Bank. However, I simply walked across the street to PNC BANK to inquire about opening up a new account with them and depositing my so-called "scam check" as my initial transaction. After PNC Bank management communicated with the Armed Forces Bank management (i.e. did the proper, thorough, fair, and ethical verification process), my scam check was accepted and approved for deposit into my new checking/savings account. The funds were available for spending in just two (2) business days. The scam check was deposited on Friday and ALL of my balance was available for withdrawal the following Tuesday. How come Northwest Bank couldn't do the same for me? Perhaps Northwest Bank has something against helping people. Perhaps Northwest Bank has an indifference towards military veterans. Perhaps Northwest Bank's policies are as pretentious and degrading as their branch employees? Recommendation: Get your act together, Northwest Bank. 😐

Dustan D1After 27 years with this bank I am leaving. After 15 years on estatements they charge me $3 for a paper statement that I never requested and I had to re enroll in estatements. And they won't refund the $3 for the statement I never received or asked for.
