  Me and my sister went there last Sunday to sell some gold and the person with piercings on his lips straight rude and try to tell me that my sisters coin was fake n when he was testing it out he didn't know how to use your tester obviously and he straight rude specially when I walked out he said some rude remarks so I sent in my kuzzins to show that the coin was real than my kuzzinsbwasnsaying he got rude with them anyway teach that kid how to test gold cause he doesn't know what he's doing thank yuu have a good day

  Good afternoon, I apologize for your experience in our store. There is no reason an employee to ever be rude. I understand there was disagreement about the authenticity of the coin. As a business and especially when dealing with high dollar items. We have to be able to guarantee the item, if we can not, we simply cannot proceed further. I have not seen the item, but am willing to take a second look and offer my opinion. Just stop by the shop Monday through Friday.

  I have been dealing with Mountain Pawn for years and they are simply the best I've ever seen. Their owner and managers have always treated me with respect and courtesy. Before I found "Mountain Man" I really didn't like to shop at pawn shops. I'm not a great haggler and don't care for the back and forth on prices but I don't want to be taken advantage of either. I have been buying from these folks since 2009 and have always gotten a fair deal. I enjoy visiting their store and visiting with them. In short I feel very comfortable when purchasing an item at this store. I read some of the 1 star reviews and I just believe there is something off with those reviews. Could it be that these 1 star reviews were written as a revenge because they did not get their way? Or that the authors were trying to get something for nothing?? I am not personal friends with the owner or any staff but IMO they are honest and the type of folks that I could socialize with. IMO ignore the 1 stars!!!

  We were shopping for an ex box for my son. Everybody was very professional. We dealt with rob and he was great, we bought one and it ended up not working. Rob was very quick to work with us and get us another one that worked! I definitely recommend them and shopping there!

  Don't live in Montana myself, but I cannot wait to travel over there to check out the shop. Had people make the trip and tell me how amazing their selection is, how they received the best customer service they ever had in a pawnshop! Every time I call looking for something I am always greeted with a warm welcome on the phone, and provided with wonderful customer service. If your in Butte, you must stop in and see these guys they are doing a wonderful job!!!!

  Be advised even in with a loan you will only be offered 25% of the USED value of your items. Caution to shop around first. Management used to work with you now all you are is a dollar sign. Used to recognize veterans too, but alas. Sad state of affairs really. Another one bites the dust...

We appreciate all our customers, and am very disappointed to hear about your experience in our establishment. However I believe there has been a misunderstanding on the percentage we offer. After reviewing your loan, we loaned you more than 50% of the used value on both of your items. We don't have a business without our customers and it is because of this we do all we can to get people what they need, or as close to as we possibly can. I wish you a better experience when you return to pick up your items, in that you would change your review.

  I really like the merchandise and have gotten some really great stuff here, including my ring and snowboard. However, on 2/14/19 myself and my sister were in to browse, my sister is a local from the area and I am a frequent visitor, and the manager working that day was extremely rude, twice. My sister asked to use the restroom and he said "no, can't you read the signs?". We both thought he was joking until the second time when he asked the person standing behind my sister if she needed any help, my sister thought he was talking to her and said no just browsing, when he said in a very demeaning manner "I wasn't talking to you". This is when we both knew he was just being a jerk and both of the other employees noted as well. The two other employees were very apologetic and kind, the manager on the other hand made me consider ever spending my money there again.

  The first thing that comes to my mind for Mountain Man Trading Post, is exceptional. LOVE the people that work there, and they always make me feel welcome. Such a great environment! Prices are affordable and always have great deals.

  The good: The selection. Product here turns over faster than probably any pawn shop in Butte - which is a good thing. Some pawn shops seem to have the same "stuff" for years on end. The bad: The pricing is just... off. The sticker prices are often at or near retail. Sure - they'll come down the customary 25% or so - but then you're getting a used - and nearly always incomplete - product for what amounts to a good sale price? As an example, I went in looking for a used digital camera. Of the 10 or so digital point-and-shoot cameras in the case, all but one were at or above common eBay prices. The difference: eBay listings typically include *all* of the accessories - cables, manual, case, box. The cameras at Mountain Man, almost without fail, came with....nothing. Not even a cable - which after you purchase will likely put you over retail. Again - MM has a good selection if you're Jonesing for that certain something. But be ready to pay almost full tag for it.
