Katherine Seguin5Communication was fabulous. Aaron was often in touch to answer questions and provide information on days off or after business hours. It made it more convenient for us as we both work full time. In addition, he rearranged his calendar to attend the closing-it was nice to finally meet him! The knowledge of the team is impressive. The mortgage loan "world" is changing quickly and they worked with us to understand our options (for example, recasting our loan in the future) and also help us understand how to get the best interest rate/purchase points/etc. They were also timely, and got my loan funded in time for closing!

Helios5Who likes mortgage companies? They are a necessary evil. Until you get to loan depot. Super transparent, very communicative. It feels like i borrowed money from a bank not the mob. Please tell professional all around good people. I called for a preapproval and told them if it wasn’t done by the end of the week to forget it I’ll get it somewhere else. They called 4 hours later and asked where it should be emailed. The web interface lets you set goals and stay motivated to pay your loan off early. I doubt they will think it’s a good thing having folks pay off early but better than defaulting. Speaking of which they called 2 times during the pandemic to ask if we needed accommodations.

Michael Wilkinson1loanDepot actively makes servicing anything about your loan nearly impossible. There isn't anything easy to do other than to make a payment, other than that you're dealing with the worst customer service and product. Trying to get PMI removed? GOOD LUCK!

Susan Radvansky2The only reason this is a 2 star review instead of a 1 star review is because I know it's a crazy busy time for mortgage and refinance companies. That being said, we signed up with loan depot about 60 days before we were due to close on the sale of our old home and purchase of our new home. All docs were sent early on and we were regularly emailing to see if everything was set for our closing Sept 2nd. We heard nothing. No response so we assumed we were good to go. On Sept 1st, 3 hours before our movers were due to arrive, we get a call that the underwriter needed more info. We immediately sent what was asked, hopeful the close would only be delayed a few days. For the following 2 weeks we went back and forth with the underwiter needing more and more proof of our assets, where they came from, who actually owned them, blah blah blah. It was a nightmare. We had to pay 15 days of rent before finally closing on our new home. My other big problem was that we paid extra to buy down our interest rate. Loan Depot matched a percentage for points based on another offer we got from another lender. BUT when the closing was delayed (because of THEM!!! Not us!) They raised the points by .4% which was several thousand dollars extra they charged us. They used the excuse that it was because rates went up so they had to pay more to get us the rate we locked into. But agan, that was their fault and not ours. If they had just communicated with us a week or so ahead of time that things were delayed, we could have delayed our move and closing on the sale and purchase, but they gave us less that 24 hours notice so it really screwed up our move. We almost went with a local lender at the last minute who guaranteed a 30 day close just to get the process over with, but decided not to since the sellers needed to get the sale complete for their next purchase as well. I do not recommend Loan Depot.

Juanandyeli1This review is for the Main LoanDepot office. I re-finance my HomeDepot Loan with another company. I called LoanDepot to cancel my automatic monthly payment draft (ACH), after waiting 40+ minutes finally some one answer my call, the customer service representative assured me that my Auto-Draft was cancelled. I asked for a confirmation or email etc, no one was given. What a surprise when three days later this company took the money from my personal checking account (ACH transaction) to make a mortgage payment that is not longer with them. After calling many times and waiting at the phone 30+ minutes, another customer representative answered my call, I explained her what happened, her response was "I will escalate this to my supervisor "Paul" and "it was a mistake from the other Customer representative because your ACH can not be cancelled the way you requested and Loan Depot will refund your money in 21 days". I requested to talk with a Supervisor and I am still waiting on his call. August 2020. Short story, they took my money for a Mortgage loan payment for mortgage loan that is not longer with them, because of this error, my monthly finances got affected and I still waiting to get my money refund. worse experience ever.

Imad Ahmad1Wife had a call with Jorge Solla Soler. We had given him all the information needed. He was adamant about not doing what we had asked him, kept pushing us towards something we didn't want. Overall not a pleasant experience. We asked him to send us all the information about the loan and he just sent screen shots with no detailed information, just summarized. Not helpful information at all.

Cheryl Bolton1The loan process went very well until the day of my closing. I close in the Raleigh area. They didn’t verify my employment until the evening my closing day. My closing was moved to following day. I sat at the closing office for 5 hours waiting for the paperwork to be emailed over. At 5 pm on a Friday they were going to delay my closing until the following Monday. The sellers got very nervous and didn’t want me to take posesión until the closing. I had all my belonging and kids and pets waiting for somewhere to live. I drove cross country to move into my house. Finally i closed at 5:30pm on Friday without exchange of money. My closing was delayed due to their negligence and I not compensated for extra expenses I endured because of it. I emailed upper management with no response. Will not recommend or ever use again. Horrible experience!!

Yash Kumar1Never go with loan depot, they will change your closing date even 1-2 days before confirmed closing. I mortgaged a new home in New hill/Apex NC from loan depot because they are preferred lender of my builder. My closing was confirmed and scheduled on Sep 28th and on Sep 25th I was still waiting for my initial cost disclosure, after i tried to reach out multiple times i was finally told on Sep 26th noon that closing is not possible on Sep 28th because they were not aware that it is on Sep 28th, it's hell of a shock for me. I have everything scheduled, all utilities/services, movers, house warming etc. So think before you choose loan depot.
