Listerhill Credit Union Reviews

Patrick M1I used Listerhill in the past (2004 for an auto loan) and I was very pleased with the service I received. I applied online for a used vehicle loan this year (2021) and was called and asked to come into the branch to finalize the transaction. My credit score as I write this review is 806 - Listerhill denied a $5k loan because the vehicle I was going to purchase had too many miles on it according to them. I went over to Alabama Central CU in Muscle Shoals and was approved pretty much immediately with a lower interest rate than what Listerhill was offering. Sometimes bad news turns good - my credit score proves that I’ve never defaulted on a loan and at least ACCU saw that. I will not use Listerhill in the future unless it is for shared branching to save a trip across town.

Lavaunsha Siner1I used to think Listerhill was THE bank to bank with. I just recently learned that they charge a $5 fee if you don't keep $1000 in you bank or pay out a certain amount of fees, etc on your account. The overdraft fees are already $32 but now you get charged for not being rich too!

Harry Mussard5Without any doubt, Listerhill Credit Union at both the Russellville and Sheffield locations have been remarkable experiences. Whether for general, and normal, banking services such as Checking, Shares, or Loans, my personal accounts have been well cared for. When a problem occurred with my debit card, it was immediately resolved. The overall service has been exceptional. As the son of a banker, I understand some of the complexities of banking. I expect that computers do help; but always, glitches do sometimes occur. Thanks for the outstanding service.

Sharon Smith1This credit union is now taking my money!!! Opened an account around 2096 to purchase vehicle. I had to put $25.00 into savings. Perfect, thank you. Was able to purchase my son a vehicle. I live in Clarksville, Tennessee and the dealership was owned by dear friends of my husband. I left the $25.00 in savings account. Over the years it drew a about $3.00 in interest. I have tried numerous times to close this account and get my little $28.52 back. However noone would do that. All they said "is I had to come into credit union". I explained to several people I talked to there that I lived in Clarksville, Tennessee and that was about a 4 hour drive. After many attempts to close this account and get what little bit of money was in there, I gave up. Of course I thought one day soon I 'like go their and take care of this. Of course I was thinking it would continue to draw minut interest. Here’s the Clencher!!! Not only is it not drawing any more pennies, but they have started taking money back. I received a statement yesterday and was Totally Schocked!!! Starting April of 2021, they are taking out $5.00 every month for maintenance fee. I had no idea about this. It's not so much about my $28.52 as the principle of the fact. How can a Federal Credit Union start taking money from your account WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION TO ME. My balance is now $13.52. This is JUST WRONG!! THAT'S MY MONEY AND NOONE INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE GOING TO START CHARGING A FIVE DOLLAR "MAINTANCE FEE" EVERY MONTH. Now I have $13.52, because obviously they need money. So people, BEWARE, I guess they can start taking anyone's money!!!!! 🤔
Response from the ownerHi Sharon. You're correct, we did start charging a $5 maintenance fee, effective March 1, 2021. Many forms of communication were sent to our membership regarding this change in fee structure, including emails to all members, website alerts, a landing page with a video, social media posts, quarterly statement inserts, and a message on all members’ statements as well. I do apologize that you didn't receive this communication and that we weren't able to effectively reach out. I would highly encourage you to check and make sure your current contact information is up-to-date with Listerhill. We'd like to make this right and serve you as needed. Can you send us a private message on our Facebook page (@listerhillcu) or email our support team ([email protected]) explaining your situation and providing a phone number to reach out at? You can also learn more about the new maintenance fee at https://listerhill.com/livefeefree.

Raymond Davis3I am usually satisfied with Listerhill credit union however, every time I have to go in the office ar Hough Rd. I end up being in line for ten to fifteen minutes which is unacceptable. I do not understand why they do not have enough employees at this branch.
