      Though the customer service is very polite. No one is able to give me a solid answer on any questions I have about my loan. I have been bounced around to multiple people and each time they are unable to give me any information. I haven’t been rude I’ve been very polite this entire time but this is beyond frustrating that I can’t get a simple yes or no answer.

      Don’t even apply!, I got a pre approval credit, the limit was good, the APR was good, I checked the reviews and they were pretty bad, even so I gave it a shot (I learned my lesson now). After applying and being approved and receiving an email that my credit card was on its way, they contacted me to ask for my Social security card picture, after I sent it, they contact me again to get a copy of my authorization to work here. I told them I wasn’t comfortable providing my personal documents and it wasn’t part of the requirements, I have 12 credit cards and no one asked for any of those documents before so they rejected my application and now I have a hard pull on my credit and hurting my credit for whole year, no card and a waste of time. I spent hours trying to get rid of the hard pull with no luck. So I’m serious, do not even apply!!!

      Had a car loan through KitsapCU was the worst experience I have ever had. The only way to avoid so called "convenience fees" is to walk into the bank in person to pay the bill. The "convenience fees" vary, depending on the medium you use. If you call over the phone it costs $15, if you pay online, there is a $10 fee. I told them that unless they offered me a way to pay, other than drive over an hour and a half to their nearest branch, that I would not be forced to pay a convenient for them fee. So, I simply deducted the fee from the amount I owed, and towards the end of the loan, they said they were going to repossess. Even though I paid my loan religiously, on time and for the full agreed upon amount. I have been a victim of extortion, and it hurts. So with the total of $2500 owed still and in threat of repossession, I begged them to take my money and pay off the loan in entirety. They refused, and said the only way I can make a payment in that sum, is in person. They forced me to pay off the loan I'm smaller payments daily, each in 24 hour increments with an additional extorted $15 "convenience fee." In short they extorted a whopping total of $930 in addition to the interest on the loan. An amount not agreed upon with no other alternative other than to show up in person, at a bank with few branches. This has been the worst banking experience of my life. I also want to mention the "free insurance" they send a letter every month about. Another attempt to extort their members. This is my 2nd bad review for any place. I usually only post reviews that are positive. But if I can sway one person from making the mistake of using kitsap cu then I will feel a little better. And feel like a hero.

Kitsap Credit Union (KCU) offers borrowers several free choices to make their monthly loan payments, which includes electronic payments (ACH), automatic transfers (from KCU accounts), sending payments via the mail, or visiting one of our 16 branch locations. We also offer borrowers the option of paying by phone or online if they find themselves in need of making a more immediate payment, and there are convenience fees for these services.
