GreenState Credit Union Reviews

Serg Eguiarte1It WAS the best community bank for well over 20 years. The staff was amazing. Learning about the conversion to Greenstate I decided to wait and see before making any movements. Today I learned that we don't have access to People Pay and Bill Pay, due to the conversion to Greenstate Credit Union. Instead of working on the conversion overnight during non-business hours, they decided to begin working on it on Friday during business hours when employees need to get paid. Essentially leaving no options to move money until Monday. A letter sent out by Greenstate Credit Union stated, "Greenstate is committed to making this a seamless transition with no account interruptions." Whoever handled the logistics, clearly doesn't understand customer centered banking. Learning that many of the original staff, who I knew by name, are getting let go, breaks my heart for I've dealt with these fine folks for well over 20 years. So it's an end of an era. If I need an Iowa based bank, I'd move to Iowa. This is no longer the way I choose to bank.
Response from the ownerThank you for the feedback on your experience during this transition, Serg. Due to the nature of some of these systems and the requirements around processing, some systems had to be turned off prior to the weekend to allow time for proper clearing. We know this was not ideal and we apologize for the inconvenience you had last week. Hopefully, you have been able to log into your new GreenState accounts and everything is working as expected. If you have further questions or concerns, please do reach out to us at GreenState.org/OxfordBank.

Edina Mahmutovich1The bank app system is the worse I have seen...the system is always down and never works properly. The staff at the Addison, IL branch are unprofessional especially “manager” Mallory Medina. In the industry that requires working with clients and customers on daily basis there should be specific level of professionalism and intelligence...this branch lacks this. I don’t have an account a this bank, but was there taking care of my deceased mother’s account. I would never bank here the way I was treated nor want this bank to have anything to do with my money.

Marie Andrews5Staff is amazing, always easy to work with. They always send a dog treat through the drive through for my pup when he's with me. Helped me with my account once I was married, but did not yet change my name. Love this location.

Zak Klemm5Had an issue with direct deposit and they worked to reinstate my account so I did not have to wait another week to get paid when I desperately needed it. Although it takes some time for transactions to come through the people at this bank really work with you if you talk with them. Shout outs to the team on Lake Street in Addison for their above and beyond help!

Stephen Crifase1Least convenient bank of all time. Takes 2-3 days to process any transaction which could be manageable if they were able to keep track of the transactions, but this bank can't pull it off. debits and credits seem to only be processed twice a week. On Tuesday's the slam your account with every charge that have been pending since Thursday from the week before. Then on Wednesdays any money that you put into the account is put in ,only after they have arranged all the debits first, then they take out the $35 overdraft fees causing the account to be over draft again. Unfortunately when you try to deposit something to counteract the fees they can't be processed for days. In the 3 months I've had this account they have taken over $200 from me, in account that "doesn't allow over drafting" I would have closed my account sooner but I would have been charged again for that. If you want to go someplace with the same money management skills at a cheaper overall cost take your money a zoo. Wrap it around a banana and toss it in the monkey cages, at least this way when you get s#!* thrown back at you from your banker you have the possibility of getting money back. I'm not saying it's a better savings plan (it comparable) but it's a hell of a lot less stressful.

Kari Johnson1I miss the old store and the old staff. Everyone is new and slow, I switched banks

Kyle Yucus1I drove out of my way to this bank because I had a First Party check written from a decades long account holder of this branch that I was looking to cash. (I did so just last year) Upon politely providing ID that I was the valiant recipient of the check the teller then demanded a 20% fee ($10 of $50) to cash THEIR OWN BANK'S check! When I pointed out how ridiculous the fee for processing their own check was, the teller blatantly mocked me and offered condescending apology. This bank tried to steal 20% off of their own retirees' gift to their grandchild. Absolutely shameful. I ended up taking this banks own check to a third party Currency Exchange who only charged me $1.63 to cash it. Avoid these small-time extortion artists.

Ana1They have horrible customer services especially in the drive up in both Addison locations. They never greet the customer in drive up. Will be closing my accounts and take my business else where.
