  My mother was a Consumer’s retiree and a client at this CU for 30+ years. As we dealt with her terminal illness and death earlier this year the information the CU provided regarding the handling and disposition of her accounts was at best incomplete and at worst completely incorrect. I only hope that my late mother was treated with more courtesy and competence by the managers there than we were. Happily her remaining account was closed today and I walked out knowing that I would have no further dealings with them, any remaining estate business will be handled by a bank.

  Very serious issues with their website and IT Department. I have been a member since 2013 and they made a major overhaul on the eCommerce website in 2019. Not only has the website has not functioned properly, some payments were missed back in January 2020 to Michigan Gas. They claim Consumers now will only send paper check which is absurd. Michigan Gas (which previously had e payments from Consumers) stated this was a change in policy from Consumers not Michigan Gas. I had to switch to having Michigan Gas do an automatic withdraw in order to have my payments on time. I therefore had to switch the cart and horse around to get an e payment. Later in April the website lost track of not just one but two automatic payments from my checking account with Consumers and my mortgage account with Consumers. This caused a great deal of stress and I had asked not a customer service person to follow up but someone from the IT Department which I was told was going to happen. However, this did not and it shows they are either not customer focused or arrogant or just incompetent.

  This place has gone down hill! They have a low limit of how much $$ you can take out of your own accounts in a 3 day stretch. You may have 20,000 in your account but they limit you to $1,500 in 3 day period. It's like you have a Mommy controlling your $$. Good Luck if you're doing a remodel job. I wanted to purchasing flooring for my home and my card was "DECLINED" even though I have 20x that amount in my account. How embarrassing!! Called on 3-6-18 to ask them why it says declined... lady was rude, loud and told me can't change it, all banks and credit unions limit everyone's withdrawals to $1,500 in a 3 day period. Terrible Customer Service!!!

  We have used this CU for loans, mortgage and savings and checking accounts since 1983! Great service!
