      Bank hours are terrible! 10am!? Are you serious?? I’ve been banking with Golden 1 since my parents got me my first account with them. That was about 15 years ago. This bank has slowly got worse over time. Also the fact I can’t transfer money or deposit money to my other credit union account in Oregon. We use to be able to. What happened?

      Walked in to finish setting up a bank account that just needed mail verification and they said it's by appointment only. The only appointment I could get is in 2 weeks. What a joke. Worst service for banking.

      IF YOU ARE THINKING OF OPENING AN ACCOUNT HERE THINK AGAIN!!! I HAVE DEALT WITH A LOT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND THIS IS THE WORST ONE EVER TIMES TEN!!!!!!! THEY OVERCHARGE FOR THEIR SERVICES, THE OMIT INFORMATION WHEN OPENING AN ACCOUNT AND THEY FREEZE ACCOUNTS AND REFUSE YOU ACCESS TO YOUR OWN MONEY!!!!! THERE BANK HOURS ARE TERRIBLE, THE PHONE ACCESS IS RIDICULOUS, AND THEY JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. WORST BANK EVER!!!!!

      I've banked with Golden1 for years now and will not be switching back to Chase or BoA. The tellers are always a delight to work with along with the loan agents. When I got my car loan I went specifically through Golden 1 because the phone customer service is absolutely amazing. They've also been really good at stopping fraud and haven't gotten a couple calls whenever something happens to one of my cards. The only thing they could possibly do to make the experience better is a better mobile app.

      We have been with Golden one over 35 years. Their loan rates and service have diminished to a new high level. Waiting times are exaggerated. Long lines out the door in Redding. Sierra Central credit union exceeds Golden one in every area. I am only with them because of their relationship with the state of California retires. I may change my direct deposit to Sierra Central.

      Friendly staff and clean comfortable business. Interior was recently redone work nice seating area. There is now an indoor ATM to use so be sure to come inside if the outside one is being used or the weather is bad. Golden 1's online banking works great, too. They've added a lot of really good services in there over the years. Their mobile app is good, too, now that they've added fingerprint authentication and depositing checks by taking pictures of the checks is a breeze!

      This would had been 5 stars when I opened the account due to it's rates and promotions, better than any brick and mortar bank in town. But then we had an issue with adding me to my wifes account. First they did it wrong, which I found out in the bank a week later when I tried to access the account, had to go back with my wife to verify that I'm supposed to be on the account (3rd trip), made me a new debit card (original one never arrived) which I could not try to use for 12 hours or so. Used the card 24 hours later, did not work, then my wife tried hers and it also failed. Turned out they used the same card number for both of our cards voiding both. On a 4th trip to Golden 1 they tried to fix it, my wife's new card ended up being fine mine still failed. Now on a 5th trip to town (we live 10 miles away from the bank) I received a 3rd card which did finally work. I did appreciate the main banker who was trying to help me, I had seen her before, it wasn't her fault and she was very nice. All this still only led to me subtracting 1 star since it was the only issue (albeit a 5 trip issue) I've had with them. Where the 2nd loss of a star comes in is the rest of the staff. I now recognize two people in the whole bank after being there for a few years. Almost a complete roster turnover and the new employees don't seem to be as experiences obviously, and it shows in the longer wait times. I miss the old staff who always had me in and out very quickly, even knew my face so ID's checks were fast and/or not needed. I was 1st in line yesterday and it took 20 minutes to receive the change I requested. One more occurrence like that and it'll be 2.5 stars, with me moving on to purely online banking and whatever bank offers me the best promotional deal at the time. Bummer.

      Never an in and out trip, always a wait, and yes I'vecome at different times and days. The bankers that are sitting at the desks in most banks can do simple transactions like deposits or payments, but they just sit there. Offering online banking, a drive thru or even a drop box would help the flow especially when the line is to the door.

      My experience at the Redding Branch of Golden 1 was one of the best I have experienced at a credit union. I walked in not knowing what to expect but was hoping for the best. I was hoping to lower my rates and monthly payments. And that is exactly what Juan Carlos Cisneros helped me do. He was so efficient, I was running on little time as I was in my lunch hour and he offered to follow through, with phone calls, and even through email. He helped me through every step, without skipping a beat. He was quick at responding and in my opinion got me the best rate I qualified for. Juan helped me tremendously. He was patient and followed through all the way until the end of the process and even surprising me at the end with a credit card that has many perks. He offered all he could, was efficient, and had an impressive work ethic. His customer service was of the best quality I have received. I have recommended many family members and friends to Juan, so they can have an experience as outstanding as I did. Thank you Juan Cisneros for being you, and wanting to help people like me!!

      Waited an hour today went to this shared co-op and had my ID and account number ready to make a deposit. The teller tells me nope cannot take the account number. He said I have to have my member number so confused and after 20 minutes of waiting on hold I get my member number and then go back wait 10 minutes in line and nope the teller needed my account number in the first place thanks for wasting an hour of my life while I’m on vacation.
