Kelci Sisson1I usually don’t post bad reviews but this was an especially awful experience. I want to start out by saying despite the awful and unprofessional experience we had, the ladies at the front were extremely friendly. Amanda at the front was very helpful, and her supervisor whose name I did not catch was also great. We do not bank with GECU however we sold a vehicle to a gentleman who was getting the loan with GECU. We met him at the bank at 12pm on Saturday, they close at 2. We waited over an hour to sit down to do the paperwork, no big deal. In the middle of everything 2 o’clock comes around and they inform us that we would sign the title paperwork and be on our way, everything would be finished up Monday since they were closing. Super super unprofessional but I thought again, no big deal I let the gentleman take the vehicle. On Monday all the paperwork was completed and we were told we could pick up a rather large check on Tuesday. Tuesday morning we get another email saying the check was ready. So we have two emails stating the check is ready to be picked up. My husband and I both take off work early to go get the check. We received an email stating they would not give us the check until the gentleman who was getting the loan added $20 to his account. I called and it went to the main number so I asked for a supervisor, I explained the situation and was told they would call me right back. With no call back I emailed the loan officer back and informed her we would be there at 4 to get the check and that whatever money he owed did not involve us considering we had already signed the vehicle over to GECU. She did not respond to that email so 2 hours later we head to the bank. Keep in mind, paperwork is already signed, the guy has our car, and they are now holding our check hostage until this guy gives them $20. Long story short, my husband and I had to put $20 in this guys account in order for GECU to release our money to us regardless of the fact that the loan was approved and we had already signed our vehicle over to the bank and the deposit account had absolutely nothing to do with us.

Daniela A.5I have had my accounts with GECU since my first job many many years ago, and I have always been treated with professionalism and respect. They are always there to help you and answer your questions in person, phone or online. I love the new upgrades and extended hours. I use their APP very frequently since it makes my banking way easier, I can give payments, check balances and do transfers, and much more even has an option to chat with a representative. I just do not like that during Teller business hours the drive thru is the same as the ATM and it takes awfully long! Please put an ATM only machine outside your locations, please. Other than that, I highly recommend.

israel arroyo5Great bank! I never banked with them. Every time I come and make my payments I’m always treated with respect. Love the high tech tellers. Fast in and out! Gecu has helped me getting finance with a great auto loan and other cash loans when other banks just don’t even give you a chance to better yourself and just need a little help. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping me out.

Maria Ontiveros3GECU has gone to remote tellers over phone that you call for service while you’re in the bank. The good part is that they offer extended hours inside the bank, similar to their drive through tellers. There are other employees for loans etc. There is no synergy of customer engagement at this bank.

MC2This is just a general review on GECU. I have been a memeber for 2 years and i am feeling like i did with Chase. At lease Chase had better customer service over all. Branchs are fancy but i like dealing with a Real human teller in front of me, face to face, not on a screen that i have to wait in line for to only wait longer for the screen to connect. Applied for a loan and was denied based on debt to income. Very dissatisfied with the banks flexibility. I have a project to work on. I have clear sufficient income to support this loan. I know 2 other lenders that can make it happen. I went to one prefered lender and i was approved yesterday. Now They have my business. I think i will be leaving GECU soon for a customer focused bank. Gecu is just a small bank trying to be a Wells Fargo, I left chase for that reason.

On two seperate occasions I have been screwed over by their atms being unable to take cash deposits, even the ones at their main branches and the ones at their mesa hills branch. I have been unable to get a hotel room on one occasion while on vacation and another time was left without a rental car while mine was in the shop because their atm couldn't take cash. You are a bank and can't accept cash?? Ridiculous. I have also dealt with more identity theft issues with this bank than any I've ever used before. I can't believe the unprofessional and disorganized system they are running. I will be happily withdrawing my money and leaving this bank this week. Good riddance.

Christian Saenz1Terrible service, treated me like I was not a valued customer. Went in to reinstate an atm card because my wallet got stolen, and the man who was working did not want to give it to me. I had a passport, my account info, and a social security number. He told me to leave and bring back a valid drivers license (he knew mine was stolen already since I told him). I went back home to find another valid form of ID. Once I returned with the valid identification, the security told me that I couldn't be serviced since it was about closing time. I told her the extent that I had gone through to try and receive my atm card, and the employees were all still tending customers. It literally would've taken 3-5 minutes to do for me, while I spent hours driving back and forth to get what they needed. Security told me to leave regardlessof that fact. It was the most terrible service I've ever received since I became a dealer with GECU. They definitely do not care for the customer, and only what time they get to go home. I work in customer service, and I would have NEVER done that to any of my customers. Oh! I almost forgot about this one. One of the night security guards crashed into my car on his way out of work right in GECU's parking lot meanwhile I was leaving the property from taking money out of the atm. Didn't say anything about it until now, I felt the need to speak out based on today's experience. Your property would've received a half to no stars if I had the option to.

Joshington Avenue5I like that this bank is modern and 21st century. The interactive teller system is convenient and I'm usually in and out of this location pretty quickly. Their app is very useful, especially for making mobile deposits.
