Freedom Mortgage - Laconia Reviews

Togus1Started in November.. it’s Late January now. They sent me new loan docs again and changed all the terms without me asking. I was told that I had the lowest rate I could get anywhere because I was locked in at 3.25 (after they tried to get me for 3.85 which is above my current) I called my local credit union in late January and they locked me in at 2.5 with more cash out to consolidate and a lower payment….. Freedom lied to me about rates and tried to sell me on using them…. Never never again !!!!!!! Buyer Beware

Jason Beaumier1Not just Laconia (They are nationwide), they offered me a 3.50 and Federal Savings Bank offered me a 2.25. I already paid the appraisal (much higher than FSB’s cost) and was stuck until I could grab the appraisal from them unless paying another VA appraisal. Once the appraisal was completed and I sent it to FSB (without Freedom knowing) Freedom calls me back to say that the appraisal is too low and they need more points (even though the refinance was for way less than the appraisal came in on, they were trying to get more money on points for no reason even though I could take out even more on the cash out via VA because of the “low appraisal” that was worth more than the estimate). THESE GUYS ARE SHADY. DON’T DO IT. They should be investigated for fraud by that generic cold call to up the cost via points.
Response from the ownerHi Jason, we regret to hear that you are displeased with your recent experience with us.

David Cataldo5We recently worked with Freedom Mortgage to purchase our first home with a VA Loan, and despite other comments, we had an incredible experience. Even in this market, we managed to close within 30 days thanks to the dedication of our team. They were there every step of the way and were extremely responsive (email responses literally within minutes). I would recommend to my closest friends and family.

Jeffrey Cusson1Terrible communication from this company. I’ve had the absolute worst experience during my “quick and easy” FHA streamline refinance that I was cold called on from them.. I started this process in JULY, over 6 months ago. I was told close would be August or September the latest. I kept calling every other week checking on the process and they kept assuring me we would hear back soon and it was in final review. Come to find out they simply could not handle the subordination process at all, which I had to make many phone calls to my secondary lender to square it away without any help from Freedom. Had someone from Freedom just picked up the phone and called the secondary lender like I asked numerous times it would have been solved very easily. I’ve had three different customer service people handling my case and two managers, none of which know how to pick up the phone and call me with updates, or respond to emails. By the time the subordination was approved, my documents were apparently “too old”. I was told to send a utility bill again as proof of occupancy and then it would be in final review. Then it got denied again because another document was too old (keep in mind Freedom is the reason why it took so long). I’ve had to submit the same documents multiple times because nobody could tell me what I needed. Every time I called I would get different requirement, and nobody would reach out and call me telling me what I actually needed to close just that somebody would call me back, and they never did. The three hard inquiries in the last 2 months were great too, even though I signed the authorization for a credit pull in July. So finally in February, after much frustration and me calling literally about 60 times I was clear to close. Reviewing the loan estimate showed that my term was wrong, which I called right away saying I needed the term adjusted to what I told them I wanted it at. I was assured I’d be called back (wasn’t). Called again a few days later and assured I’d be called back (wasn’t). The closing company called me, confirming the appointment for signing the documents, which showed the term was still incorrect. I called again, and emailed my last customer service rep and never heard back from them yet. My closing date was last week, Feb 10th and I STILL HAVENT HEARD BACK AWFUL communication from this company. This was the worst, most stressful WASTE OF TIME. My credit is now 60 points lower from this process and nobody will reach out back to me. I WILL be refinancing with another company later down the road once my credit recovers from this abysmal mess. Stay away from Freedom Mortgage, absolute circus show going on here.

Penny Wise1They purchased our loan from the company we originally went through and man are they terrible! We've had nothing but issues with them and every time I call all they care about is getting me to refinance with them since it makes them money, no why don't you do your job first before trying to sell me something. So if you have a choice of lenders, make sure to never give this company your business unless you like spending hours of your day fixing mistakes that someone else made.

Melissa O'Brien1This is not specific to the Laconia location, but Freedom Mortgage as a whole is TERRIBLE. Do not use them if you don't have to!!!
