  I’ve banked with different banks and this bank is the best one I’ve ever had. You walk in and they greet you right away. Everyone is so friendly and goes over the top to help you. Their customer service is the best and every business should want to be like they are. They are involved in the community like a community bank should be. One thing they do is collect food for the food bank and they do it all year. Makes me wonder why more banks don’t do that. If you want a bank that treats their customers like they really care about them then this is the place to go. 5 stars is all I could give them but I’d give mor if I could.

  Is it possible to give a review with a negative amount of stars? This place is the most unorganized 'financial institution' I've ever encountered. They lost loan payments, added charges and fees and couldn't even give me a print out of the exact amount that was still owed on the loan. We needed to clarify the date our payments were due because we kept getting charged late fees even though we were paying each month before the due date that was on our statements. So, we set up a meeting with the Vice President of this branch to clear up a few things and she couldn't even tell us the actual date a payment was due each month. We showed her the statements that showed the due date and she said that wasn't accurate but couldn't tell us why. I've made a lot of payments in my lifetime and I've never encountered a business that tells you one due date on a statement but really means another date. I will never use this bank again. I will tell anyone who will listen not to use this bank. They are a joke. If you enjoy keeping your hard-earned money...go somewhere else.

  I love the staff at First Volunteer in Monterey! Customer service is top notch and everyone is so personable and always smiling. We have a choice and we choose First Volunteer Bank in Monterey!
