  I have been a member of First Eagle for over 35 years and joining was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The rates are competitive, the online tools are easy to use and, most importantly, the staff is wonderful. Especially helpful over the last couple of years has been the fact that First Eagle belongs to an extensive network of credit unions which allows you convenient access to your accounts.

  Be weary and always review your credit report. (1) Due to no fault of my own, the bank turned in a FALSE negative report to all the credit bureaus. I had paid the entire principal due on a loan I was paying off. Due to their new computer system, it did not include any interest incurred. I find this out two months later, after they reported me to all the credit bureaus for failure to pay in "31-60 days" over a .55 cent interest charge. They fraudulently reported me without even calling me or sending me an email regarding the unpaid balance. It didn't even show on my side of the computer system, so I had no idea why they negatively reported me. My credit report drops almost 70 points due to the error. Trying to get it fixed has been one hassle after another. (2) When they went to change my failure to pay in 31-60 days, they erroneously pulled a hard inquiry on my credit report. It drops another 10 points. I think this irks me more than the bank computer glitch. Per my financial adviser, I asked them to delete the hard inquiry; three weeks later they state they are having problems doing that. I've been with this bank since my youth, but I'm still very unhappy and tempted to start banking elsewhere. I had to request that they provide a letter on the situation, since I'm about to start applying for mortgage loans. A person's credit is their livelihood. I worked hard to obtain an 800 rating for them just play around and do whatever they want to it.

  Terrible credit union. They are barely ever open. They only have 2 locations. The location in union memorial hospital never has money, they give you a check and you have to go cash it elsewhere which costs even more money. They don't have an atm at their location. Most banks have hours until atleast 4pm. They don't open on Saturdays. They are closed at 2pm every day and off on Wednesday. If you get a checking account with them, your paycheck doesn't clear until 8:30 that morning. The staff is very nice, but everything is a process and takes weeks to get done. Also they took away the atm card for the savings account. So unless you want to go inside the the bank all the time to get your money out, your forced into getting a checking account with them. In the past this bank was a little bit better, however it's getting worse.

  2 stars for the staff other than that not a good place to bank if you need access to your money. And it takes weeks to get a new card from them
