Wanda Hen1ABSOLUTELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO GET SCAMMED, AND TREATED LIKE DIRT BENEATH THEIR FEET! I currently bank with First National, and am very happy of the switch, I am treated with courtesy, and whenever I have actual issues, they give me the time and patience to sort out any error on my end and theres, and actually work to come to a resolved ending. Period.

Jane vian5I have had nothing but great experience. They take the time out of their day to call and make sure you are getting the best rates. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they treat their customers and conduct great quality services.

Queenstar -Renee5Our very own Suzanne at the beloit Branch. It was 1992 and had I gotten my income tax check on a Friday and I had just moved to Beloit. I had no bank account and I had cashed my check and it was for a large amount of money. I didn't want to have that kind of money laying around the house so I came to FCCU/Beloit and that is where I met Suzanne. it was 4:55pm and I know the bank was about to close but she helped me open a bank account and put all of my money in it. I was so happy that she was there that day. I have been banking with FCCU/Beloit every since, Thank you Suzanne Renee

Rene Hoeve1We have a car loan here. The car is currently in storage since our daughter is overseas. The First Community Credit Union forced us to take out collision insurance even though the car is not being used. My insurance company told me that this is very unusual and does not seem fair.

Sarah Allen3Prior to this last week I would have given this credit union 4-5 stars. Never before had I had a problem with them and they were always willing to work with me. My father was a Fairbanks employee for 30+ years. When I was a child he proudly opened an account for me with FCCU. Over 30years later, my husband made some transactions with the bank card during closed Sunday hours, since we can't send cash through the internet. He then put the money in the drop box to go into the account 1st thing in the morning to cover the transaction. I was told many years ago the drop box deposits should be credited to my account before transactions were ran from the weekend. For years, this was always true. This past week these transactions went through before they posted the drop box money and charged us 3 bounce fees. The first bounce fee, led to insufficient funds for the next transaction and so on. I phoned the bank. I was told that they would not be reimbursing my fees back, even after I explained that they ran the transactions before crediting my account. I was again told they would not reimburse the $64 of fees (technically $92 but I took ownership for one of the transaction, simple woops, 1st one in years). When I asked to speak with someone higher up I was given to the bank president. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. I am ashamed that a "customer owned" institute is employing someone with this kind of customer service skills. We spoke for 25min, early on in the conversation I was told "we're done" with an attempt to hang up on me. He adlibed complete lies such as "you just said look here buddy," when I said nothing of the sort. I was told that if every time we he heard "somebody" told a customer something then "somebody" wouldn't be working here anymore (referring to the employee that gave me the drop box info, which was a good 5-10yrs ago). He told me never in his 21 yrs there have they ever deposited the night box before running transactions. I was also informed that prior to his call he had already been approached by "5 other employees" regarding my call. To me, it was obvious he had a preconceived opinion about me and the situation and he knew before we even spoke that he was going to back his staff and refuse reimbursement of our fees. I was also told that NEVER had they ran the night drop box before clearing checks in all the 21yrs he had been there either, and that checks cleared in the middle of the night, even 10-20yrs ago (which I have a hard time understanding how a hand written check can be processed from an account without an actual bank employee reading the amount that it was written for). Somewhere in the conversation he informed me that if I had not approached the situation the way i did (implying my assertiveness (FYI I was not rude, but I did expect reimbursement and felt this was a bank error)). Then when I explained I was not mad at him nor "Tina" I was simply upset that we have multiple overdraft fees, that we felt were not our fault, the bank president told me I was mad at him and "Tina" and that it was obvious that my husband and I tried to "play the system." I am truly not sure what's fun about running a transaction on my debit card as credit during closed hours, driving the money to the drop box, then celebrating as a "win" when the bank opens on Monday because they deposited my money before the transaction went through. Not sure how that's playing the system, the cash was in our pocket and deposited into the account, they simply were not open. After making a couple vague comments about how he had already spent 25minutes of his day on me, he reluctantly reimbursed one of the fees back. Still upset at the overall treatment. Always thought my 1st home loan would be with them, but right now I have little faith in what the credit union has become. Sadly, my Dad would be ashamed to know his little private credit union (at the time) just used their authoritative positions to not do the right thing, because they didn't like my approach, or for whatever reason.
