First Citizens Bank Reviews

modelcitizen6261Due to this bank's sheer disregard for customer service, and their own policies, it has easily convinced me to withdraw every cent I have with them and switch to BB&T in Beulaville. Why? 1. About a month ago, I asked my husband to cash my check for me at First Citizens, because I work from 8 to 5 in a nearby town and don't have enough time to drive over and cash it myself on my lunch break. That time, the teller called me (while I was working, no less) to verify that my husband has permission to cash the check. I told her yes, that he's my husband, and he should always have permission to cash my checks because I am unable to go out there. Fast-forward to today, when my husband tries to cash my check, they won't allow him to do so, even though I have previously expressed permission for him to do so to your staff. This would not be a problem if it were a policy you stick to all the time, but I've previously asked my momma to cash checks for me in the recent past there, before I was married, and they've allowed her on several occasions to do the exact same thing my husband tried to do. 2. Earlier this week, I called to ask about changing my account name, being I recently got married. As soon as the man answered the phone, he sounded less than thrilled, and immediately put me on hold for over five minutes. When someone finally took my call, they acted like I was ignorant for even calling out there to ask about changing my name over the phone, though their corporate website states: "If your name or address has changed, or you haven't ordered checks in the past, please call us or visit your local branch to update your information." So, based on that, I should have been able to do that over the phone, and will now have to use a PTO day to go out there and change it in person. I realize some "policies" are in effect to maximize security, but at least be consistent with your practices so your customers won't have to jump through hoops to get to THEIR OWN MONEY.
