Paid off auto loan and DFCU refuses to give me back my car title, stating that it will take 3 months and that they do not know where it is.

Wow, what a shame. Whos responsible? I used to tout the greatness of this institution. Customer service however is now a thing of the past. I was left on hol due high call volume too many times. It would seem they need to hire some folks to answer phones being as there is no one working in the branches anymore, but that would impact profit I suppose. I hear they got a new president, so hes probably making big bonuses for the profits gereated. Nobody cares anymore. I was on holf for almost an hour, i then used the callback feature and waited days with no callback. I even called when they were closed, and sure enough, it said they couldnt answer my call due to heavy call volume as they say every time i call " heavy call volume"! Really, ya'll need better lies to cover whoever is running this place to the ground. Sorry, used to love ya. Not any more!

Used to be a great bank to deal with. Dover FCU still offers great rates on loans. However, the Smyrna branch seems to have problems with attention to detail and messed up my deposit.

I have recently discovered that Dover Federal Credit Union (DFCU) has made several unauthorized auto debits from my account to pay another member's loan! When I noticed this, I immediately called member services, but they had no idea how this could have happened. When I got off the phone with member services, I went directly to the branch in Smyrna. When I informed DFCU of their error, I was initially lied to about my right to stop the unauthorized transactions by the Assistant Manager. While I was there, my account information was displayed on a computer in front of another member, and their account information was displayed in front of me. I brought this to the attention of the credit union on 09MAR2018 and haven’t received any formal written response to any of my inquiries, despite visiting the credit union on a weekly basis since then. During my weekly visits I’ve been blamed by the Branch Manager for not noticing that DFCU was making unauthorized auto debits from my account and they’ve refused to accept a written inquiry to see the authorization for their transactions and a written demand to stop the auto debits which forced me to pay to send them via certified mail. I decided to post this review after receiving a call from the Smyrna Branch Manager yesterday, 03APR2018. He had called to verbally deliver the credit union’s official response to the issue, which was for me to try to collect the money DFCU pulled from my account from the other member myself. Just to be clear here, DFCU made several unauthorized auto debits from my account to pay another member’s loan, and when informed of the mistake, the official remediation from DFCU is for me to collect the money from the other member myself. I was told that this was “the easiest way to fix this.” This started by the credit union making a mistake. However, now that they’re aware of this mistake and they are refusing to fix it, I believe that their actions are consistent with theft. They took my money without permission and their own paperwork in their system corroborates that. Based on my experience described here, I believe that Dover Federal Credit Union has violated the Electronic Funds Transfer Act and engaged in deceptive practices which are prohibited under the Dodd-Frank Act. Make no mistake, my rant doesn’t end here. I will be promptly reporting this to the National Credit Union Association, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Delaware State Attorney General’s office. Dover Federal Credit Union, I’ve been a customer for over a decade, and my family has done their banking with you for far longer. No more. You only get a 1 star rating because 0/5 isn’t an option. To all those reading this, you have the right to stop auto debits from your bank account despite what DFCU may say to you. See the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 12 - Banks and Banking, Chapter II, Subchapter A, Part 205, Section 205.10(c). Anyone who tells you otherwise is engaging in unfair, deceptive, and abusive practices. You also have the right to not have electronic transfers taken from your account without authorization, see the Electronic Funds Transfer Act.

They never answer the phone even at the extension they leave for you. Online website never works. charge an outrageous fee to pay your loan no matter how you pay it. Paid off my loan was told my title would congee in the mail in 6-7 weeks to later find out they held for a .63 balance that shouldn't have existed. They input everything incorrectly and customer service is terrible. Go elsewhere.

Chris and the rest of the staff at the Smyrna Branch are very Good. When you walk in to the branch you automatically have Good sense of direction. If its not something you read on the way in to the Credit Union that gives you guidence,It is because of the knowledge and warmth of the staff upon walking in the door, That helps points you into the right direction.Going into the Bank isn't about cashing checks and making loans,Its about making members throughout the local community Happy on all aspects. They Truly put the word Local back into our local Credit Unions. If a Day comes when I walk in to my local Branch and I don't see the Wonderful ,Team player faces that I'm used to and especially Chris,i surly will look for another place that believes in keeping Good help..Thank you again for having Chris serve my needs at my local Dover flu Branch in Smyrna De
