      I am so impressed with this credit union. Manuel, Stefan and staff there are super nice and so incredibly efficient. I got approved the same day and got check for my auto loan the next day. They gave me cards and set up accounts without any hassle and fuss. I didn't ask for it but they told me they have special relationship with Intermountain and reduced my interest rate by 0.25% which made a huge difference in rate. Manuel communicated through phone and email very quickly. I highly recommend them. Fantastic credit union and they are open until 6pm. Park in Harman lot, there's dedicated spots on the left side as you enter the parking lot.

      The good: Sydney and Manuel have always been polite and explained things well before moving forward. Never pushy. Very nice. They got my wife a credit card which helped build her credit, even though she didn't have a permanent residency in the US yet. We were grateful for that. The bad: We arrived for an auto loan and I was disappointed when Sydney did a hard inquiry on my credit before I got a chance to ask a few more questions. We went forward with the loan application and after getting pre-approved and having the purchasing contract sent to them, they increased the proposed interest rate by 0.75% at the last minute because the underwriter thought the miles were too high (150,000 miles on a Hyundai). I have an almost 800 credit score, I pay a mortgage, and have a couple credit cards. Any other lender would have given a much better interest rate. I went over to a different credit union and got the interest rate nearly cut in half for the same vehicle. So they lost my business for the auto loan because their interest rate was ridiculous.

      At present I have over $200,000 in car loans through this CU. On January 12, 2022, my car dealer who I deal with exclusively attempted to get a new loan for me. He was told by the first loan officer he couldn't receive emails and worked from home and couldn't receive faxes. He did nothing to try to remedy this situation. I called the loan department and told Spencer about the problem. He assured me he would get things going. At 4:30 p.m. my car dealer stated he had not heard from anyone named Spencer. At 4:50 p.m. I called back to DCFU and spoke with yet another loan officer. He told me Spencer called and spoke directly with my car dealer but had not heard anything from them. So they lied. Then I asked the new loan officer if they were going to try to do anything to help me today and he said "probably not." I told him he could forget about my loan and I will be refinancing my other loans with a different institution. For someone with a 3 star rating you'd think they'd want to keep my business. Anyway I cannot recommend them and will never work them again.

      I’ve call and they have our insurance information for our car loan. They won’t stop charging the account. We have car insurance and pay quite a bit every month and haven’t missed a payment. I’ve talk to 3 people regarding this- they still have charged my account- STOP!!! The refinance didn’t go smooth either- they had already pulled out credit- then they pulled it again and it knocked our score Down 6 points! We were on the middle of a refinance! I’m getting tired of babysitting your mistakes that have cost us money. The only positive thing I can say is customer service is pleasant to speak to-

      I have loved working with Spencer. He's helped me with a HELOC, an RV Loan and two car loans. It has hands down been the easiest experience I have ever had with a banking institution. He's responsive, quick, and just gets things done, basically over email. Easy, efficient with better terms and more approvals, great work!

      Deseret First Credit Union CARES. I am going to be really objective to make it real. I had a bad experience in my fist contact but they literally took less than a day to contact me and personally review my case. their credit card options and banking really fit for what we are looking for as a new family. After they promise to fix the issue, they actually did, and to be honest I wasn’t expecting anything from a bank just because they fail on clients pretty often but this guys change that.       I don't know much about them, but apparently they do not compensate employees when they leave. I have a friend who resigned in good standing and they did not pay this person's PTO balance when he left. At least pay them what they have earned. This right here denies you my business and support.

      The Good: - its a safe place to put your money other than your wallet. -They've always been nice and tried to help. The Bad: -They don't know how to help with anything other than read their screen. -They have very few branches in SLC, other credit union service station are random and can only do basic banking. - They outsource different parts of their business. I was locked out of my account online for 3 week, called in several times, spoke with 5 different people all trying the same things. Ultimately they said the problem is with the company that handles their software and that their IT guy would get a hold of me when fixed. After weeks of no progress and faulty software, I CAN'T TRUST THEM.

      The website and app are extremely frustrating to use. I hope they got their programmers/IT support for very cheap. The features are "quirky" enough it frightened me to think about all the issues they probably don't even know about which might compromise my money. It definitely doesn't inspire confidence! For example, when I have checked the Skip A Payment option on the bill pay mobile app (but not if done on the website), it cancels the entire SERIES of payments instead of just skipping a payment! When using the website, only the Bill Pay section won't work if browser settings aren't set to allow cookies, but the instructions which come up to change the settings link to an entirely DIFFERENT website and NO instructions. My guess is it's the landing page of the site they copied the code from. There is also the smaller things like Bill Pay history being limited to 18 months which eliminates any year-over-year reporting and comparisons. In general, I found the experience to be one frustration after another, but it's not like it's a financial institution or anything. Oh, wait!
