  I went with Churchill Mortgage for my refi as a Veteran and a decades long follower of Dave Ramsey. There are innumerable great reviews of CHM all over the web. I apparently drew the short straw with Jeff Green and associates. I persisted and stayed with CHM thru closing solely due to the interest rate, as well as having to start over with another company would've meant another 3-4 months. Two major areas of deficiency and incompetence. (1) Tremendous lack of communication. And when he failed to communicate and then something with the electronic forms during the first few days didn't go the way he wanted/expected (I did not want to sign forms containing incorrect entries he had made), he completely lost any remnants of professionalism that may have existed. After chastising me on the phone for his/their breakdown, I never again received a call or update for the ensuing three months. From others' reviews, this deficiency is not a one-off occurrence for him. (2) Closing was a complete clown show (the polite term for a public post). No one from CHM communicated with me about closing and effecting the monetary exchange. I never received a complete, accurate closing package prior to seeing it for the first time when the contracted traveling notary arrived (for the second attempt at closing) at 9pm...two days after the original scheduled closing. I was supposed to receive the pkg three biz days prior to closing as is required by law. I spent four days repeatedly engaging to get the numbers correct on the Closing Disclosure (despite sending numerous statements, no one even looked at them). During the closing, there were several issues/questions for both me and the contracted traveling notary and no one to call given the late hour. Some of the docs had errors, and one had problems that rendered it unexecutable. I changed and initialed items, signed what docs I could, and left them with the notary knowing I had three days to cancel the deal...and came within hours of doing so. During the three days, I got on the horn to Corporate CHM and ultimately received outstanding communication, support, and professionalism from a Compliance officer (Bethany) who is the reason I didn't pull the plug on CHM. Through her, someone finally told me who I send my closing costs check to...six days after the original scheduled closing. The refi is closed and I've got a superb rate. It was a real challenge to stay transactional and focused on the numbers and financial gains. Only because I'd bought and sold about 8 homes over my military career was I able to stay on top of the buffoonery. Whether I would use CHM again would completely depend on the circumstances at that time, but they would not be my first contact.

  We came to Churchill through Dave Ramsey, and we are glad we did. Churchill and specially our agent Oray made the whole home purchase process painless and informed. Oray was patient, respectful, kind and always available. We highly recommend them!

  Kraig Spence and his team were more than helpful and accommodating. He presented the numbers to us in a very easy to understand way and answered our many questions with patience! Joseph Waitz, Sergio Mendoza and Ayda Nye were all so friendly and quick to respond throughout he process. We will recommend them and utilize the teams services again.
