ChoiceOne Bank Reviews

malcolm chambers1Hate banks, bankers, and any institutions that are like banks. Lakestone bank lied to us when they told us we could have a overdraft protected account. They charged us $35 over draft fee. Then gave it back when we flipped out on them. They then charged us a $35 fee to fix it. Covid makes it so we cant go to the bank and the shut it down and change it to Choice One which has a policy to charge $50 on all savings accounts. So they charged us $25 to open as Lakestone then 3 months later charge us $50 as the new bank policy. So I see it that they basicly stole $110 from me in 3 months time. Imagine how much money they made off everyone's savings accounts. I imagine any review above a one star is employee, friend or family of employee or just plan ignorant or stupid.

Tim Mckenney1I've been with this bank many years. Since the Lakestone takeover though.. Everything seems to be sliding downhill. ATM's are down and out of commission, often now. Nearly every other weekend if not every weekend. My debit card gets locked very easily (Its been unapproved at local McDonalds twice) Even with appropriate balances. Fraud possibilities? idk...Getting to be a pain to stay here.

Alba Gingell5I have been banking with Lakestone Bank & Trust (LCBT) for several years. Everyone at the Metamora branch is very knowledgeable, friendly, and always so accommodating. Last year, we applied for an auto loan and the process was quick & easy with a great interest rate. Always a pleasure doing business with Lakestone Bank and Trust. A big THANK YOU to Kristi, Kimberly, and all other staff.

J Howe5Wow! I'm shocked at my banks reviews! I've bank here since 1998 and my father and grandparents too. This is a great bank who always has gone the extra mile. Strong roots in our community. So anyone moving to our area start with Lakestone, trust me I've tried the others in town.
Response from the ownerThank you!

Emily1I've had an account with them since they were CSB. But after so many years, I'm finally closing my account. Lakestone is garbage! I'm sick of getting messages about breaking their terms and exceeding limits. I literally deposit my paychecks and pay my rent, that's 3 transfers in a month, yet I just got fined for 7 transfers. I'm so done. Do not bank with them

Jordan Spencer3During the sell of Lakestone Bank to Choice One I became locked out of my account and I have been unable to find a support email address to contact. I do not have the ability to place a call out due to stay at home order.

Joe Rossi5I've been with this bank, since I moved here from Chicago in 1998. (Formerly Lapeer County Bank and Trust). Never had a problem or issue with them. It's run as well as any bank in Chicago, better than a majority of banks I've done business with. I'd rather have my money in a local bank, than with the con artists at City Bank or Bank of America. At least if you have a problem with Lakestone you can actually talk to the boss about it. Try doing that at one of those corporate giant banks!

Mich LAW1Either Google is fixed or somehow 6 out of 87 ratings are 4 to 5 star, the rest , 81, 1 star. How is this a 3.6 rating? Although I don't Bank here, My Mother Does, and my review is the way that they treat her, where I have had to intervene to get something done right and protect her financially. She was given inaccurate information when dealing with fraud activity by bank employees, that could of resulted in major loss for her. On another note, I would not bank here myself because of their crypto policy.

Steven Teet1Nothing about this company is user friendly. Been trying to make an online account with them all night. Even called several times and I'm still not able to create an online account with them. I see now why my mom closed her bank account with them when they bought out the CSB bank in Yale. I'll be doing the same here very soon.

Joshua Ignash5I have to write about this lovely lady Liz McVety. I came in to get an account and Liz was so nice and welcoming. We had a very funny conversation and she set me up with a new account and debit card on the spot. Liz is a wonderful woman. In fact everyone there is so kind and helpful. Liz really made a positive impression on me. To have a branch manager take time to help me was astonishing. At the end she made me feel like an old friend. Whatever they're paying her, it isn't enough. Thank you Liz! It's nice to know there are still true professionals out there!
