Chase Bank Reviews

Hani Attalla1well, they are friendly at first and I can not totally blame them for the mishap, however they are not willing to take it to the next level even when they admit there is something severely wrong with their system. I opened a small account online as a test before I move my business and payroll to them, which was good as it unveiled significant issues prior to move my business to them. I am a director of Engineering at Qualcomm (Qualcomm folks, please feel free to reach out to me before conducting business with these guys). I am also the owner of ultrasound business with locations across the state. after opening a test account online along with 3 children accounts for my children, I attempted to access my account but I could not login and i got a message to call; I called customer service and was on hold for at least 40 minutes ( very bad sign if you have a business and need assistance). I opted to get a call back, which took another 40 minutes. when I talked to customer service they stated that everything is fine and I should go to any branch and show them 2 forms of ID, which I did. I sat in front of the banker for about 50 minutes as they talk to the department that locked the account, and after I presented 2 forms of ID they requested, they stated that the accounts have been closed and no way to reopen them, and for some unknown reason, they assumed that my IQ will be low enough to open another account with them. I stated that I am ok with no having account with them and I would like to withdraw my the $1200 I deposited and leave in a friendly terms, and that is when I was shocked that the accounts were EMPTY. I am not sure if someone in the bank was in dire need for money or what they did with it, but the employee stated that they must have cut me a check and sent it (again that is after talking to them for an hour before I go and instructed to go and present ID's). I requested to see an evidence or an image of the check that was cut and there was no such thing available. Although the amount is fairly small and insignificant, it does constitute grand theft and I have no option but filing a police report, contacting the attorney general and the FDIC. I thought about filing a report with the BBB, but it is useless....if you are reading this, please take a moment and go check their reviews there. I should have done that before I conduct any type of business with this institution. Update: called customer service next day, and they basically informed me that everything I was told in the branch was a lie. they informed me that the process was pending the banker helping me uploading the two forms of ID's I presented, but they never did. at this point I could have gone to another branch and complete the process. I figured I give it another chance, so I called another branch only to get a message that they are busy to come to the phone and I should try later. I concluded that most of them are either incompetent, or they are too busy to serve smaller accounts in 500K range or smaller. Taking my business to Wells Fargo.

J1Racial profiling Enough is enough!! No more this branch. Both employees and Manger on duty racial profile you. I had a wire transfer in. Funds were available but they would not release them. Giving non-sense excuse. Asked me to come back the next day. I went to the Sorrento valley branch the right way. They said, funds are available and wire transfer funds are instant. They were able to give me all the funds. And said They will talk to the Carmel valley branch to educate them. This was not one time. It happened before for check deposit. When another branch was happy to help. They always do such a thing if you are certain racial background!!

Jayson Yoss1Not very friendly, infact pretty snarky and rude. Lots of "this isn't my home branch" or " your gonna have to call our 800#" from branch employees and managers. Literally tried to make a formal complaint and was told they don't have a complaint process. So the institution that holds your money doesn't have a complaint resolution process? Great corporate representation.

Walter Macalma3I’m pretty sure the only reason Chase put a location here is because there is a Wells Fargo location nearby (theirs is standalone) Makes my life easier as I bank at both, but what I love about Chase is their smart ATM’s (full touch screen and dispenses 1,5,10,20). I don’t have to tell you about the advantages of small bills and not the judgmental eyes of withdrawing 100 1’s. What I don’t like about this location is they don’t have one, I’m told it’s an upgrade most locations will see in the near future. I feel like I’ve been waiting for years already. They can’t keep them outside for vandalism issues. This location is touted as a Private Client, but I don’t use one, actually I’ve never used their “dedicated team” of bankers. Weird how my 10+ years with them for both business and personal hasn’t even warranted a phone call. Alas maybe it’s because in this area you need that 2nd comma. No worries, I’m ahead of the game on my investments and I have my reasons for using Wells, Pacific Marine and Navy Fed for my complete banking needs. I can’t agree with other reviewers as my teller experience has always been perfect. Friendly, prompt, accurate and no more than a 2-3 minute wait even with 1 teller. I also think that expecting no wait at a bank is a little ridiculous. For being a private client I sure was hoping for more amenities. They are always out of water and don’t even carry the usual lolipop’s

Olin Downs5Opened a business account here and everyone I dealt with was super friendly! Every time I go in, there is little to no wait. The online site and app is also really easy to use.
