Cars Financial Reviews

Eric DeHart1Honestly wish I could give zero stars, mind you I had a car with them almost 10 years ago and gave the car back, well since about last year they just started garnishing my wages.. I didn’t think they could do that after so long. Well I guess I’m stuck paying it off but after that I’m never dealing with them again.

Britt Sparks1This so called finance company is an absolute joke. COMPLETE CROOKS. Run in the opposite direction. Do not sign a contract with these shady thieves. That’s all they are, and you will ultimately regret it.
Response from the ownerWhile we understand that not all finance regulations seem fair, the company complies with all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to each transaction. We attempted to work with this customer but received no response.

Jared Cole1I tried to call when i switched over my insurance but never got an answer. I once was on hold for ten minutes then just hung up on. Other times i didnt even get that far. I chose the option to leave a message and get a call back and i never was called. Then despite that i am almost a full month ahead on my car payment and fully insured, my car was disabled stranding me almost 2 hours from home. Also there is a fee every time you make your car payment. It says its only if you pay by debit card but its forced on there with every payment option. And it doesn’t come off the loan so im just forced to pay more every 2 weeks. And this was not disclosed to me when signing. And they keep the spare key. In fact there wasnt a spare key and i had to meet someone and have a key made and bring it to their office under the impression that they just needed to know there was a second key. I was unaware that I would not be able to keep it, as again that detail was conveniently left out when i was signing. So should something happen to my key im out of luck unless i want to pay out of pocket to have a smart key made. I cant wait until i can refinance somewhere else that doesn’t have a 13 percent interest rate on a secured loan

Emily Duncan3UPDATE: Jessica (the one over Leslie) called me and was so so so very polite, I got everything worked out with payment arrangements and she is going to look into why my amount wasn't paid in full, which was all I asked. Thank you Jessica for talking to me nicely! I totaled my car in April and had gap insurance and full coverage, somehow I still owe $281, I was up to date on my payments and they cannot tell me how I still owe them the money just that I still owe the money. Leslie to be exact , always has an attitude, from day 1 2 years ago and DOES NOT want to help customers, I don't know how she has a job. When I asked her why I owed $281 she told me that if I had enough sense I would get in touch with the insurance company and ask why they didn't cover it, when I financed the car through them and GAP through them, Insurance paid what my car was woth which was their part, it was GAP through them that didn't. Then she very smartly was asking questions I knew that she had the answer to, like my address when I just pulled something out the mail from them today. Its like they go around my question, with pointless irrelevant things. I ask why I owe 281 she asks me if I was in there looking at a car, that they were going to put it over onto my new loan. I said WHAT RELEVANCE IS THAT ? I WANT TO KNOW WHY I OWE THE MONEY. A complete and total Idiot with a horrible attitude. So now they have sent me something for court over 281 on a car that book values 3,000 but they have recieved 18,000. Noone can tell me how I owe the money. SCAM, I wish I could give 0 stars. When asked for a supervisor , I get told shes busy she will call me back. Yeah right. I am calling the corporate office and it will include a complaint with how I was treated today and every other encounter I have had with you.

Lifejourney1Very disappointed in myself for ever allowing these kind of financing terms. Car financial should be more secure at this point to not allow customers with such struggles to suffer. To turn off anyone's car for being a week or even two weeks behind during this times are beyond insensitive. Please you be better off at JD By rider . Its time to re write some policies with the company!! People remember how there treated when there down. This company thrives on the weakest of us! Very sad! You should give folks 30 days before a disable is affected. Cutting off cars with kids and medical issues involved seems dangerous! Dont do it. Could be in a bad situation one day and have to leave but guess what you cant! They cut off you car cause of a payment! I will make arrangements to 86 my contract with them somehow as soon as i can.

Leeland Riffe1My girlfriend records her conversations with them every time she speaks on the phone with them. They are extremely rude to here and begin arguments . They harass and call her all the time over one late payment. Leslie, and April are the rude ones. Christie is very sweet and respectful so she request to speak with her normally. The staff should be wiped out and exchanged with new employees and cars financial should do a thorough training for customer service. It’s absolutely disgusting the way they treat and speak to people. This isn’t an exaggeration just read the previous reviews from everyone else.

Amanda Shilow5I have had my car almost a year. I have auto pay and they auto draft my payment every two weeks which is much more manageable then one lump sum every month. Never had a problem! They financed me when I was go I g through a tough time and have reported to the credit beau as promised, helping me raise my score.
Response from the ownerAmanda, thank you for the positive feedback about your experience at Cars Financial! We are happy to hear you are having a good experience with the auto draft feature. We appreciate the feedback!

Tiffany DeVaughn1Absolutely the worst place ever to finance a car through. I get they are in house financing they are there to help those who have awful credit and can not get traditional funding. But that does not mean they can treat their customers anyway they like. By all means do not become late on a payment. You will suffer because they are quick to deactivate a car. Does not matter if your trying to make a payment of not. I am not saying we have had perfect payment history but we have always tried to keep up on the payments and even made partial payments just to show we are making an effort but do you think these people care NOPE not at all. They would rather see their clients struggle and have to figure out other means of transportation then to work with them. They care nothing for their clients all they care about is their money. I hate dealing with anyone from their office. Everyone of them is rude and not at all compassionate towards their clients. They are in the business of dealing with working class people most of which live pay check to pay check. Maybe they should walk a day in the shoes of their clients and they would better understand. I can not wait until we can get out of this loan and far far away from them
Response from the ownerWe strive for 100% customer satisfaction and have forwarded your comments to our Cars Financial manager. She will be reaching out to you to discuss your concerns. Thank you!

Stephanie Brown1Customer service is unpleasant. They send you texts saying they want to help. Nothing could be further from the truth. I made my payment on time but received a text saying to call them they want to help. I call and because I paid ONLINE after 6, which I guess is when they close, they wanted $12 late fee. Nothing says I had to pay by 6 in my paperwork. They're constantly looking for ways to charge you extra money. This is my last purchase through Shelor if I have to go through these people!!!
Response from the ownerHi Stephanie, the manager has tried to contact you regarding your comments but has gotten your voicemail and has been unable to leave a message because your it is full. Please call Cars Financial and ask to speak with Jessica Dobbins.

Justin L.2They did help me get financed when no one else would. However, at approximately 20 days past they send someone to your home to “visit” you, which is basically a threat to repo. They then charge you $75 for the “visit”. Most banks do no such thing until at least two months. Furthermore, their interest rate is astronomical. I owe twice my car’s value, literally. I understand as a sub-prime lender they are a bit more costly but this is ridiculous. It also took many months for the balance owed on my credit report to start going down, and that’s only after I complained. They could stand to improve their customer service too. As soon as I can I’m refinancing somewhere else.
Response from the ownerJustin, we strive for 100% customer satisfaction and have forwarded your comments to the management team at Cars Financial, but unfortunately we do not have a way to contact you based off of your name on Google. Please call 1-877-332-0773 and ask to speak with a manager to discuss your concerns. Thank you for your business!
