taylor micklus1I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS MORTGAGE COMPANY!!!! Carrington had been bombarding us with mail, emails and calls to refinance our home so we finally gave in and talked to someone so we could get a pool. Everything went fine with the paperwork and they were working fast to get the financing done by the end of the month. It goes downhill when they want to send the appraiser out, because we was having new flooring put in and the house painted we asked that he come when the job was done. They assured us this would not make a difference, the adjuster would make notes. The adjuster was a slime ball, hired by Carrington, and told us that he couldn't tell us anything because Carrington was his client, not us, yet we paid him the $525 for the appraisal. The pictures of our house show tarps everywhere from the painters. Well the appraiser valued our house $40,000 less then what a realtor told us and our property taxes. Carrington offered us a $10000 loan. We told them they were nuts. No one would do a 30 year mortgage for that amount. This is when we started getting transferred to any idiot who answered the phone and was told someone would call us back and they were trying to get us more money. No call backs. We took this as a sign to run. Here's where it gets good!! We got our property tax letter and guess what it had our house worth $40,000 more than what the appraiser had said. We protested because we have an appraisal that says different. We set up a meeting and come to find out the idiot appraiser did not include the value of the land that our house sits on. We have contacted Carrington to get the appraisers name to file a complaint with the BBB but are getting the run around. By the way we are no longer being bombarded with calls or emails about refinancing with Carrington, go figure.

Johnny Huang1Terrible Customer Service!!! STAY AWAY!!! Check my reviews... I Never leave 1 star reviews! My Original Mortgage Loan was with Chase Bank but sold to this terrible mortgage company. They will make it absolutely difficult for you to make a payment by charging fees such as paying over the phone. Took me over a year to set up autodraft payment with them. Once it was set up, they disabled it which caused me to have a late payment. Carrington would not let me set up autopayment because I had a late payment due to their error. They "informed" me had I made my payment on time then I would be "eligible" for auto pay. What a joke of a company. Google search them and you will see they have a stellar 1.5 star review. I'm refinancing this loan ASAP and I recommend everyone to stay away!!!

Tar J1My loan was sold to Carrington buy chase in May 2020. My loan payments were and have been current with chase for years. I made my first payment to Carrington which was due for June 1, 2020 on June 10, 2020. They withdrew the funds from my checking account on June 15, 2020. They also received two more payments on my account on June 24, 2020. These two payment would have taken care of my July and August mortgage payments. I finally go to register my account with them to find my June payment is past due. I contact them about it to find that the two payment that came after the withdrew the funds from my checking account June 15, 2020 had posted but that one had not and was sitting in suspense showing my next payment was due August 1, 2020. I have called them several time about this sent them copies of the withdrawal from my checking account by them and sent the the ledger from Chase showing my account was current before they sold it to then and it was only due for June 1, 2020. Today my account had not been corrected it has been 3 weeks and now August 1, 2020 is here I am not making a payment and I am prepared to sue this company if my account goes past due as a result of this. I need to refinance away from them immediately. This is some way to be introduced to a new loan service company.. Very poor customer service.

Carrie Mort1This is the worst mortgage company ever. They are so unorganized. Working there was a nightmare. The turnover rate is extremely high. I wouldn't trust them, I am surprised they haven't been shutdown or fined yet. They stress quantity over quality. And I didn't trust or agree with the way they wanted bankruptcy accounts remediated. If Carrington was servicing my mortgage, I would review everything they sent me very carefully. Especially, if the account is in bankruptcy. I would make sure they are filing payment change notices and if the account was remediated I would have my attorney find out what remediations were done.

Jordan Fletcher5I have been working with Karen Boots throughout the mortgage process and I am very impressed. I have to say, I was shocked at the reviews people have left. Carrington has all of the tools any mortgage broker needs to succeed. On top of the my account rep, Karen, always answers my calls and has offered me plenty of knowledge for my clients. I will definitely return to Carrington.
Response from the ownerHello Jordan, thank you for the wonderful review! We are so glad that your loan officer Karen was available to answer all of your questions. We look forward to working with you in the future! Thank you!

Danielle McKinney1Bought my house 2 years ago and each year they raised my mortgage by $200-500. This year they offered refinancing and my mortgage would still go up $209 from its original price. Had 2 people helping on the loan to only get the run around and when they do call its only to say "let me call you back" to never call back. I had a terrible first experience buying the house and its only getting worse each year. They claim my property taxes went up but upon further research they were only increased $60 from previous year. No one can explain they additional $460 increase. It's been a month and I still cant get an answer. Even after 4 voicemails and countless call. Do not use them it's a financial trap and headache

panda fitz1As a seller, my buyer had this company as their lender. It was a complete nightmare, the buyer did everything they were supposed to and the lender could not meet deadlines with the paperwork. They asked to push back the closing 4 times, we were under contract for two months for no reason. They gave weak excuses such as, so and so was sick, someone got fired, paperwork was wrong. I saw the emails in-between both realtors and this lender and it was like a child typed out the emails , they were illiterate. They finally agreed to the signing and three hours before the buyer was meeting at the title company, they pulled back claiming they needed more paperwork. The buyer had even hired people to move into the home. They asked for another week or so extension with no signing date stated or any reason given. I made the decision to terminate and would not ever consider working with this lender again.

Don Davis1Our home was flooded and Carrington offered to delay our payments for a few months without reporting negative payment info to the credit companies BUT guess what...they reported late payments which has negatively affected my credit. Jerks! They offer us help then stab us in the back by reporting late payments. Like we don't have enough to worry about right now. A current credit card I use for travel expenses just lowered my credit limit due to this report from Carrington! Our dealings with them during this flood experience has been a nightmare. They don't assign someone to our case (like everyone else I'm dealing with did) so everytime I call I have to start all over explaining what we need. I also got lots of different info about the same thing from the different reps I talked to. I will never use this company again, and I encourage you to look elsewhere. Their customer service is a joke! And, they have done damage to my very good credit rating.
Response from the ownerHi Don - We're really sorry to hear about this. Please call customer service at 1-800-561-4567 to see how we can help you. I know your experience hasn't been good so far but I'm sure the team will make things right in the end.

hellomarie2I made my mortgage payment before the 16th of this month. Something happened and the payment was rejected. Only reason I found out was because the payment had not been taken out of my bank account and I checked online to see it said it was rejected. My payment info is saved to where I just click and pay. I chatted with a representative and she went over the info on my account. They had a number on my account that did not belong to me. I was told to call and speak to a representative. I asked if the late fee could be waived because this was not on me. Plus I did not recieve a call or email making me aware the payment did not go thru. The lady was of no help. I asked to speak to her "superior". He made it seem like it was my fault even after telling him the payment info is saved and my payments have been going thru every month. Plus the number on there was not my number. He said they tried calling me several times lol Again the number was not my number. After going back and forth he decided to waive the late payment fee, reason why decided to give the extra star. I don't know why Bank of America sold my loan to this mortgage company. 😒
