It's to bad that all the other pawn shops are closing. These folks at capital are straight up swindlers! I've botten a few things from down there on different occasions, half the time it don't work right and the other half you could of gotten new for a couple bucks more! I suggest doing your research before purchasing something from here! Chances are for a few bucks you could buy new with a real return policy if the item they sell you is defective! Dishonest praying on the misfortune of others, if you want to support preditoral behavior then this is your spot!

Rick is awesome!! Any time you want an honest deal, ask for Rick. We have always preferred Capital Pawn above all others in Helena. Lately, we have been even happier to buy, sell, and trade because Rick has given us a fair shake every time. No more shopping around. We just go to Capital.

      Response from the owner

Thank you for your patronage and we are so pleased you have been a happy customer for a long time and even more so while Rick has been in Helena. We look forward to seeing you again.

I had the best experience while moving over the weekend. I was having TV sound issues and Rick was great at helping me problem solve the issues and getting me a couple of DVD players. I will definitely go them for all of my future electronic needs.

      Response from the owner

We are so excited that you are letting our google viewers know that you had a great experience with Capital Pawn and Rick. He gives his best always. We appreciate him! We also look forward to your next visit.

Went to shop for the first time and was greeted by friendly staff. They actually gave me more than I expected for my items I was selling, (really just looking to get rid of). Picked up a used acoustic guitar, price tag said $59 and without me even asking they dropped price down to $45 at register. They even searched for a case for guitar at no extra cost. Very good experience.

When some dirtbags swiped my miter saw off my porch in Belgrade, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office tracked it here. Rick and Justin were exceptionally polite on the phone once I got in touch with them. Can't say enough good things about how these guys were to deal with. When I came to town to pick up my saw, Rick loaded it for me and even gave me a sweet deal on an item I decided to purchase. The store has a massive inventory and great staff. Thanks guys!

      Response from the owner

Thank you Will for letting us know just how well you were taken care of at Capital Pawn. Not so happy as to the circumstances that brought you into our store though. Rick and Justin are real good people.

Decent prices if you are buying but dont bother trying to give them your business if you are selling. Tried to rip me off a ton. Offered $90 for a new $500 piece of mining equipment. In a town like this they should know better. My business will go elsewhere.

Great pawnshop, tons of inventory, and always will to deal. Picked up many tools and ice fishing gear way cheaper than new prices. Huge sale every December where the blow everything out the door. A real gem, I stop whenever I'm in town.

I've always had good experiences almost always buying. I spent hundreds of dollars while in pre-release there and have shopped many times. On June 2 I bought a PS3 and controller. I went out of town before I got to use it. When I got back on the 13th and went to hook it up the power cord for the controller and system was missing as well as the auxiliary cord. I tried to take it back but having lost my he receipt I expected to only pawn and not return it. They said the machine wouldn't load a game and they couldn't take it. They knew I had just came in and bought it within 2 weeks and could have easily looked at my purchase history to see I was a loyal customer but they just turned me out the door. I left the machine there and will just eat the $50 but I'll not be giving them my business anymore.

Where to start...it is not a pawnshop I will visit again and I encourage anyone to stay away. Terrible customer service. Owner ignored me when I tried to talk to him as he went by me then later denied it when I confronted him. Yes ... Confronted him! It was that bad. The young man behind the counter continually turned and spit tobacco in a garbage can while I was talking to him. I have bought and sold a lot of items in pawnshops over the years but have only encountered this asinine rudeness in Helena pawnshops. This owner and helper's behavior is what makes people not want to buy local. I left the store after factually confronting the owner and helper about their rude behavior and unbelievable lack of knowledge. The owner started apologizing when I caught him in some untrue statements. Too late for that! I believe the previous lady whose son-in-law got treated poorly. I went up Cedar Street to the Alias Smith one on corner of Montana. They are worse. OMG! I took the ladies advice and went to Dave's Pawn on the Gulch. Great service! Great experience, and the owner, Matt, was friendly, informative, and knowledgeable. He treated the item I was pawning as something worth money (which it is) while the guy at Alias Smith and Jones threw it on the counter and basically said was crap. Lol. Anyway, I highly encourage you to avoid both of those places. They were smug and rude from the minute I walked in.

We have always had excellent customer service at this shop. When we've been in a bind and had to pawn something, they've done their best to give us the most for our item. We highly recommend these guys. they were truly a life saver
