  Without questions the absolute worst lender to deal with. We've helped serve thousands of home buyers and I have never dealt with a less competent group of people. Highly unorganized and they literally told me that they didn't care if the loan doesn't close. There are a lot of good non qm lenders to deal with - this is NOT one of them. Run.

  They deserve a minus 4 billion stars! Somehow I got on their list and they have been marketing me for 15 years. They won't stop. They won't leave me alone. The emails never stop, the phone calls never stop. My info gets picked up by a different rep every now and again, and the cycle starts all over. THIS IS THE WORST AND MOST ABUSIVE NON QM LENDER I HAVE EVER SEEN.

  Extremely rude, especially Alvin. This company sucks. Professionalism is the worst I’ve ever seen. They will tie up your deal and not get it done, takes forever to respond to emails. Your better off trying to start your own company and underwriting your own deal (exactly). Brokers and buyers stay FARRRRRR away. You’ll thank me later. The worse part about it is, they don’t even care what the appraisal comes in at because they also order and BPO and that’s what they use to determine how much they will lend. BPOs always come in significantly lower than appraisals. Complete waste of time.

  Without getting into the details I will just say that, in my opinion, Athas Capital Group is absolutely the worst company to work with in the lending business hands down or in any business for that matter that I have experienced. This company can destroy your reputation as a Broker and destroy your relationship with your customers. I cannot stress enough how anti-customer this company is. Their behavior shows a complete hatred and disrespect for their clients, business partners and their profession. I am not sure how they stay in business. Do not risk it!!

  I do not recommend using this company to anyone. Terrible communication, had the "clear to close" twice and apparently that didn't mean anything which delayed closing twice. After the Buyer signed, it took 2 full business days for them to actually fund the deal. Overall an awful experience.

  STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! This company is a complete SCAM! They approved our loan and issued us a fake commitment, charging us ridiculous fee's and increasing our interest rate. We lost our home and had to compensate sellers a lot of money because we were promised a closing date and they kept extending the closing date. After weeks of promises, they denied our loan. STAY AWAY!

  HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE. We were supposed to close the loan on Tuesday. I flew in on Monday.Stayed at a hotel. They couldn't get their act together and close the loan. Kept me in a hotel for a week. Delayed my contractors and me.Didn't offer any explanations Thank God I had the cash so I could close the loan and not lose my deposit nor the house. Run away fast.. they should not be in business.

  As many other reviewers have stated, this company should be avoided at all costs. They purposefully avoid disclosures and delay closing to position you to up-sell another loan product, or increase interest rates. I've been real estate investing for years and this was by far the worst experience in my career. I've decided to file formal complaints and explore legal action.

  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! We did not want money back or extra money to be financed so when documents sent to us showed more than we owed on house, we refused to sign and notified them. They labelled us as "STICKLERS" . They tried increasing number of months for tax and insurance escrow so they could finance more than mortgage owed. After several months of delaying & hoping we will not have funds to close so they could finance more, we provided them with OTHER accounts with funds they did not know existed. Right after providing proof to close, we received email stating "withdrawn by applicant"...LIES, LIES, LIES. I requested copy of documentation from us to withdraw and I am still waiting. They are just GREEDY. BEWARE...signing documents from them should only occur after careful examination. IT IS BEST TO AVOID THEM.

  My personal experience with Crystal Williams at Athas, has been amazing. Please reach out and ask to speak with Crystal because that’s the account executive you want working on your behalf. I did a refi on an investment property… I told her what I want and she delivered. The appraisal came back 40k over! Yes, you’re reading it right….Lol. She went back and reconstruct the loan so that I would be able to take more money. I promise you will be happy when it’s all said and done. You can come back to this post and thank me later. I pray that this help someone who’s trying to do business with this company. Please, tell them that you want Crystal Williams as your account executive. 😍
