      So my initial experience with this bank has left a bad taste in my mouth. My husband and I are very young newly weds that are looking to buy a home within the next year or whenever we feel prepared. We wanted to get a feel of the requirements and different loan options just to familiarize ourselves to move forward in preparation. I was initially referred to Daniel who was absolutely phenomenal. He was extremely helpful, friendly, encouraging, and answered all my questions. I could really tell he genuinely wanted to help us. Immediately, after speaking with him I received another call from another Ameris bank from an officer named “Paula”. I let her know that I already spoke to Daniel but I still didn’t mind chatting with her. Probably one of the rudest encounters I ever had with a professional corporation. She was very demeaning and condescending, it seemed as if she were criticizing me then asking probing questions. She then rudely asks “How are you going to buy a house if you are not working full time”. However, if she would have stopped speaking over me she would know my husband and I both work full time while in college. (We are very determined) When I was asking about using a degree as employment history since I’m nearly done with school. She also cuts me off by saying “Well your going to need to get your degree first”. Yes, nasty tone and all. I only had small questions about the home buying process because we are not planning to purchase anytime soon. But it seemed like I was being interrogated and ridiculed more than anything. Afterwards I felt very discouraged and as if I should have never called to ask questions. I called again to voice my concerns to a manger, Elizabeth answered and tried to get me in touch with the manager. No response nor call back. I don’t know if her rudeness was motivated due to me being young and she felt that it gave her leeway to speak to me like a child. But now I don’t feel as confident in this bank.

      5 stars is not enough stars for the ladies at the Columbia Branch. I started working with Shawn, Elizabeth and Ruth about 6 months ago doing what I call a major transfer of accounts (250+) accounts and these three ladies kept me sane, handled it with smiles and allowed me to throw any questions at them I had. If they did not know the answer, they found the answer and called me back. Another person to thank is Misty who transferred to another branch, she started pitching in and helping to open these accounts. I am looking forward to a long relationship with these ladies because they are just awesome.

      I can not say enough positive things about Lea! From start to finish she was and is a jewel! She had no way of knowing the hectic yet positive events that transpired before I stepped in the door right before they closed, but she handled me with such class and professionalism. What initially appeared as a no go blossomed into a positive turn of events because of Lea's genuine care. I was a nervous wreck walking in the door, as I'm a loyal banker, and had been with another branch for many years, but I walked out of there feeling elated, and like I had just made a new friend. Ask for Lea when you are handling your banking needs! Thank you so much Lea!

      All the employees were nice and helpful. Especially Lea Smith, she made everything so easy and explained all of it to me. I was very comfortable with Lea as I felt she was very knowledgeable.

      First I'm surprised that you would even reach out to me for feed back on my experience from Ameris Bank. Be assured I will not be recommending Ameris bank to anyone. Ameris have cost me Thousands of Dollar .l lost 2 Thousands in earnest money alone . What up set me more than anything thing else found a house loved the house the montlhly payment was ideal . The evening before closing I get a call saying my down payment would go from 15000 to 30000 tell me which can come up with that amount in such a short time .that incompetence on the lender cost me the house I wanted. Now I got a house that I hate the payment are high . I'm still thinking about taking ameris to court . As was mentioned very dissatisfied with your company. I'm still in disbelief. And I felt that I let my daughter down since this house is for her. Please don't try and conclude that my disatifaction is buyer remorse. I think I need to end this conversation because it only making me more angry

      Easiest mortgage we’ve ever experienced! Gamble Ellis was amazing to work with! He was so knowledgeable, professional, and responded within 10 minutes anytime we reached out to him t With questions! From the first contact we made with him, we had conditional approval in 10 days, and final approval in 18 days! Amazing! Highly recommend Ameris Bank.

      Charlie Sides and his team are as good as they come. Charlie answered our questions quick and since this was our first home he guided us through the process. Cheap interest rates and a staff that has done this for years. I would suggest Ameris Bank to my family and friends. Great job!
