      I would give them a zero if possible. I am new to Hinesville. I work in town but live in another state. I stay with a relative until I figure out what I want to do. More than likely it would be continue to stay with someone. Nevertheless, it should not matter. I tried to open an account with this bank but could not because I do not have a lease or a utility bill in my name. From the story, it is clear it will never be possible. I want an account there because my job has their account with this bank. This place is picking and choosing who to allow as members. I was told I would not be able to get an account in town without the items they request. LIE! I went to Navy Federal Credit Union and easily opened an account with my ssn card and out of state license. The VP claim that it was because it was a credit union. LIE! When I worked in Iowa, I went to US Bank with the same ssn card and driver’s license and opened an account. So, Ameris, are you picking and choosing members as I say you are? This should be illegal! I plan on checking with the local authorities and calling the Better Business Bureau.

      I needed some bonds cashed today. Shanta helped me, she and the 2 other tellers were extremely friendly and helpful. Even though I don't normally bank there, they did not treat me like an imposition. In fact I felt very welcomed.

      I’ve had my account hacked several times. I got married and it took 3 months to get a debit card in my married name. They close to early. I was scammed with a bad check, even after calling them 3 times and being told “if the check clears it’s good, (it wasn’t) and then getting charged by the bank for getting ripped off on top of everything. Then even though my Zelle was never compromised, I had the joy during the holidays to find out they closed that account. And, when they finally sent me a card with my married name on it, they canceled my old bank card before I received it, so I had to rush to put all account under my credit cards for a week and a half just to have to change it to the new one. Then when I complained an agent tried to tell me that card wouldn’t have been canceled if I didn’t request it. This is the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with.

      I found it to be a BLESSED AND wonderful experience to be able to get an account with Ameris Bank, the people at the inside teller windows has been telling me for years to open an account, and I finally got the opportunity to do so and I am very excited and satisfied with the experience, thanks for your consideration and understanding and immediate attention that was given to me

      No matter if you call and they see that a mistake was made on another merchants part, they give you no mercy. Just continue to drag you farther in the hole for something you had no control over and just wanted to rectify. I've lost more with thia bank than any other banks I've used.

      The employees are very very friendly. The area is clean and uncluttered. There is always something community related going on in the lobby (school drives, food collections, etc). Did I mention how nice the staff is?

      Had a checking account as a secondary place to keep money with Coastal Bank and everything was fine. After Ameris took over I let the account balance fall below their minimum and they quietly started taking $6.00 per month until I noticed. I asked the bank teller how much they got me for and she said $42.00, a quick check of basic math proved that was a lie as it was actually $54.00. I'm sorry I didn't close the account as soon as Ameris took over. If they had let me know they were draining the account I would have stopped sending money to it. Not all banks do this, make sure you ask what happens if you do not use your card often enough or let the balance fall below $1,500.00
