  I recently purchased my first home and am so grateful to have worked with Alex at First Home Mortgage. Alex is thorough, knowledgeable, and took the extra time to explain things to me that I didn't understand. Any time I had a question he would respond almost immediately, and when buying a home in DC, quick communication is often necessary. Alex also introduced me to two DC homeownership programs which saved me thousands of dollars. I didn't even know these programs existed so I'm forever grateful to Alex for looking out for my best interests. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Alex and First Home Mortgage. Alex and his team were right by my side throughout the entire purchasing process, offering help, suggestions, and insights along the way.   My husband and I really enjoyed working with Alex. His in-depth knowledge of the VA loan process was impressive. That and his willingness to keep us informed made our VA loan process smooth and seamless. Alex was always willing to take our calls, even on the weekends. This is not the first time that Alex has assisted me with a loan. A few years ago, he also helped me with a conventional loan.   We’ve worked with Alex three times now, two new properties and one refinance, and cannot recommend him enough! He’s always super responsive and thorough. We particularly appreciate how patient he is as we were not very knowledgeable about the home buying process. Our refinance was during the pandemic and we know he was extra busy but he still took the time to respond to all our questions, connect us to the rest of our transaction team, and even send us reminders throughout the process.

  First-time home buying is definitely not for the faint at heart, but working with Alex and his team at First Home Mortgage on my financing made the entire process so much easier! I really appreciated how prompt Alex was in responding to my questions (and I had many) and also how thoroughly he explained complex topics in easy to understand ways. Alex was great at talking through scenarios with me and helping me understand the trade offs involved in the financial decisions I was considering.   Alex was recommended to us by our RE Agent since our primary lender was not responsive enough and ultimately unable to meet our expectations. First, Alex and his team were able to offer a better rate. Second, but equally as important to us, he offered exceptional customer service. He and his team were extremely friendly, professional and timely throughout entire home-buying process - no delays, no surprises - no regrets!. Alex was clearly experienced and capable as it relates to financing, the processes involved and this specific market (DC Metro). Detail-oriented and organized. He had answers to all of our questions and he patiently provided context when needed. Alex personally explained every step of the process and even provided tools (spreadsheets, checklists, etc) that expanded on certain details and that we used to keep on track with our overall timeline. Of note, the electronic system for uploading/exchanging financial materials was user-friendly and it definitely saved us time. Alex helped make the experience enjoyable - it didn't just feel like a business transaction, and when you've found the property that you want to make a home, that's important, and it certainly was for us.
